While it's a good idea to encourage collabs for these reasons, I believe it's a bit unfair to make them obligatory, especially if you don't have many contacts on the forums or don't want to go through the trouble of organizing it all. I say we should have as much freedom as possible to let the creativity flow. edit: I just posted. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 Released
The 10/10s for everybody might be a little excessive, but there's nothing wrong with being honest about liking most of the files in a pack. If those were the same ratings for, like DCP then nobody would even point that issue out.

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 Released
Astrosexy - IT'S THE GLOBAL ASTRO ALLIANCE.
Back-Alley Spiders - I thought the flow was pretty exceptional for this song. The transitions were pretty nice, guitar steps were fun to play. Ver coul oop I was supposed to go reverse: Zombie Sunset - Exceptionally difficult. Towards the beginning I felt like your holds for the synths (where you also stepped the drumcore or w/e you call it) was uncessary, but does add to difficulty a little bit. There was really dense part thrown solely onto the right hand that I could barely read that I thought was kinda questionable. Seemed to me like a very excessive use of 1-2-3-4 throughout the latter half of the song, whether or not that was intended (just an observation). Still pretty tite tho You Goddamn Fish - Not bad x-mod file (played on xmod), not really great either. Gimmicks were just fine though. Wuv U - Well this doesn't remind of me smooooch at all ; anyway I thought the chart was fairly well done. Nothing too much to say about it. Waka Laka - Pretty decent. I think that the flow is a little messed in the earlier parts (the mine breakups) but otherwise it seems okay. Some of your 16ths in both charts seemed either missing (where I thought they shouldn't have been) or excessive (stepping 16th string synth when it actually isn't there), but after only 1-2 playthroughs I could be wrong. Standard seemed much more appropriate layering than heavy to me. Nice touch with the color theory. Under the Glass Moon - I didn't like this one very much: it's quite repetitive during the long 16th duration and some patterns were not really to my liking (not even the jacks which I thought were okay). Song choice also was derp imo

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2011 Released
Reviews! (Part 1...) Border of Evans (Kaneh): Ooh, a mash-up song. Strangely, I actually enjoyed playing this file better than some of the other files. The layering was quite decent and its quite fun for MA practice. Overall, a solid file for a mash-up song. 85% Caipirinha (Beat of Ike): Oh boy...the file was weird at most. But it was weird in a good way. Steps were solid and for once the song didn't feel likea Touhou remix hehe... 80% Carol of the Bells (wc): Why am I receiving nostalgic moments from this song? I just wonder why. Though the steps flows well and it definitely deviated from your usual style wc. 87% Chromatic Chimera (Yesssss): Xoon5 flashback whoops. But this file feels different than the one on Xoon5. The only thing that's questions me are the mines placement on the beginning. Other than that, its a good file from you, I just prefer Don's over yours... 81% The Lovely, Freezing, Tomboyish Bath, Cirno's Hot Spring (Detrimentalist): Okay...the thrills at the beginning are okay but personally the holds would've been better placement. The file itself is okay but there's some spots that nagged me and I'm wondering if it feels right or not. Anyways, prefer Zelda's x-mod file of this over yours. Sorry Aaron. 76% Contain (debit13): I remember this file on your df engine and Dore's version on SMG revival pack. Heavy is great to practice speed and MA while Oni is great for practicing mind dodge. Overall, great file and its great to play another VSnares song after Saunder's collab with Aaron on My Crutch. 90% Died This Way (Rog): Skrillex song. Beginner is practicaly a minefield, but it does fit the song's name. Fun file to play, and nice to hear some wubs in this pack. 86% KNSM (Wineandbread): Minecraft% Mosaic (Rebound): The only thing that hinders it is the fact that its a restep of Roar's sololord file on PRP. But other than that, its a fun, simple file to play on. 80% That poptart cat song (0): The curse of the poptart cat has struck again! Funny thing is that I have this file now plus another one that I downloaded from BMS. But this file strongly reminds me of the FFR file. 76% Plasmatextor (Kommi): As soon as I saw the preview of this on youtube, I expected the file to be excellent. And I was right about it. Everything seemed to be flawless about it (despite that there was just a tiny bit of errors but that didn't effect the playability of the file). 96% R176 (Plop): Hmm...the file was fantastic. I have nothing else to say but that. Nice job on working on a Cranky file. 92% Risky Boots Battle (Duplica): Index file! Well...Index-Spread file...though the file is fun to work on index patterns. 88% Sexplosion (Wyde): Already played this when you released it as a single file. Fun file, it felt pretty well-rounded and everything felt like it was in place. 90% Stress (MN): How the hell can you play this on x-mod? The only way I see this playable is through only c-mod. Though the mines does add an extra stress effect. I feel like this is a theory being used hehe...Stress Theory hehu...Also, surprisingly, its on sync despite the constant BPM changes. 78% The Goonies 'R' Good Enough (Sensationer): Quit. Oni wasn't even fun and most of the time when there was the difficulty spikes, it didn't feel like it was necessary. Personally, Oni wasn't needed and should've just stopped with Heavy. 50% Waka Laka (Rebound): When I first saw this file, I thought to myself Oh shit...he stepped the Shakira song version... But nope. And I was relieved that didn't happened so +1 for not using the godawful Shakira version. As for the steps, better than what I have seen so far hehu. 92% You Goddamn Fish (Shikari): This song plays in my head when I was playing SMW last night. Definitely fits with the setting whenever that gigantic Cheep-Cheep kills Mario. The x-mods does add a bonus since it does feel nice to play an x-mod file from someone new. Great file nonetheless. 83% Zombie Sunset (Leonid): Best file besides your MADs and Ass Anchor. The file itself is challenging when playing through the first time (Well for me anyways) but it becomes better to play through the file. MA file and its better than the other dev/null files that I have played on SM. 87% -Part two coming up when I'm not lazy...- |
