Re: Batch Search Engine
So after updating the Status of the September/October 2014 Set 2 files, I realized that having an overview page listing currently accepted and Conditionally Queued Files would be beneficial. That's a task I'll consider for later this week.

Re: Batch Search Engine
As some of you might have noticed, I was working on creating a new website with a Content Management System for a pack series I have that isn't related to FFR. My plan is to take that framework and transfer it over to a way that would apply to the Batch Submission System as an enhancement to the current Batch Search Engine.
Specifically, I'm breaking down the new Batch Search Engine Site into several steps, and development will probably take until around the middle of next week. I've asked PrawnSkunk about potentially integrating this site onto FFR, and that discussion will be revisited when I finish development. My agenda is: - Define the relevant Content Types (Songs and Batches) - Create Song Listing Page - Create Batch Listing Page - Migrate existing Song Data over to a database - Create Individual Song Page - Create Individual Batch Page - Create Accepted and Conditional Queue Page - Manage Permissions I'll try to post my progress in this thread every couple of days. I look forward to the New Year and what I can do to make the submission process smoother before heading back to university in mid January. Some of the benefits I see from this move toward a CMS are: - Users can add their own song submissions without having to wait for a staff member to add it. - Users can upload their file submissions instead of having to submit to the batch email, and also update song information as needed. - Users can see how many file submissions they have for a certain batch period and how many transfers they have without having to do their own bookkeeping.

Re: Batch Search Engine
Alright so there have been a lot of configuration issues for putting the BSE site onto FFR, so in the meantime I'm registering a new domain. Configuring on FFR will require much more investigation and this has been going off for a lot longer than it should have.
When the new domain is available I can start setup on it. After some testing with staff, the site domain will be mentioned with a training document on how the new BSE site should be used. Stay tuned for updates. There is also a backlog of files on the BSE site that need to be updated with their final ratings for completed sets. Backlog:

Re: Batch Search Engine
Hello, so the start of this week I set up the new BSE site on a different domain and I made a training document for the admin users. Tonight I'm planning on creating both the judge and user versions of that training document and checking on the admin users to see how they're feeling about the tool.
In addition, I've finished updating the items listed in the backlog in the post above. There is still some user ownership that has to be handled and I can work towards getting them up-to-date. Stepartists that I've created user accounts for should have their username and password PM'd this weekend, and the community will be informed on how to request creation of an account, request a password change, etc. Since I have several exams next week this will be a busy weekend so I want to see how much I can do tonight. Stay tuned. |
