FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
Since we didn't have one last year I was wondering if we are gonna have one this year. I mean it shouldn't be a money issue with ffr's growing population and popularity. Just thought I would ask since other people haven't really questioned when it will be coming out.

If they do make one it should be by average rank. And then I need to mash mine up a bit more. (2490, ew.)

No. How many more threads will I see about this. Tass said there will not be another shirt with the top 1000 players on it. It won't happen again. Now someone close this and link him to another thread.

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
Guys chill. Not everyone is as well-informed as some of you.
Just tell him what he needs to know without jumping on his back about it, would you? >_> And Nubzpwnzer, it kind of is a money issue. Basically, if you make a top 1000 players shirt, ONLY people on that shirt would want to buy it ... and that extremely limits the crowd of people that would usually buy an FFR shirt. Compare 1.5 million to 1000, and you'll see why it's just not worth it to make a top 1000 FFR shirt. Especially considering last time, I believe it took forever for the shirts to sell out - much longer than anyone thought. |

You forget that there are only about 65,000 active members on this site.
1.5 million is an egregious overestimation. |

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
The target audience is simply too small to yield a worthwhile profit margin.

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
Alright the time I do pay attention to the forums is when I see something worthwhile. Anyways a profit is a profit either ways, but just wondering I should be in the top 1k here soon. I took a break from wow cause I already have my brutal shoulders in WOW and I don't have to go to work till a anime convention in october, so in the mean time maybe about a week or so maybe a little more I'm gonna try to get my overall rank below 1k.

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
This is where your wrong. Ok. A profit is in fact a profit, but it's how much the profit is. They'll actually be losing money if they don't sell enough shirts. They pay to make those shirts then they must sell them to make a profit. If they don't sell enough shirts, they'll actually be losing money. It's making a profit for 1 shirt but how many shirts do they make? It's all about the overall profit.

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
It's really more a matter of what's called net present value. Basically, if what you get exceeds what you put in and is better than a viable alternative (even after discounting), then it's worth doing. There are many better ways FFR can spend its time to make larger profits than making a shirt for a select group that won't yield all that much profit given the costs (both opportunity cost, money, etc).
Now, if these customers were somehow high-profit, then it's worth selling to niche groups, but in this case, the top 1000 average players are really no different from any other customer on the site.

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
The chances of an average rank shirt being put into production are equally as dismal as the overall rank shirt.
Neither will happen. EDIT: I see Rubix already made the same point. Ninja'd because I didn't read his whole post, etc. Last edited by foilman8805; 08-13-2008 at 08:06 PM.. |

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
FFR has had a t-shirt for each year since 2005 (with the exception of 2006). Don't expect a new shirt for the shop until 2009.
Be nice to get more stickers or a different piece of clothing. edit: Put in an advertisement in a well known music or games magazine. Last edited by Mentch; 08-14-2008 at 07:23 AM.. |

Re: FFR top 1000 players list 2008-2009
Also not everybody of those 1000 people would buy one. I would easily be in top 100 for Avg. Rank yet I wouldn't buy a shirt because of lack of money. So like rubix said it's not profitable for FFR.
