Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
Hello adventurers!
We the staff have some things to discuss with you, the players about our event. First off, I'm sure that the question "What happened to dungeons?" has crossed some players mind so we are going to explain bluntly. During the staff test run of dungeons, we experienced a problem due to how intricate stats and calculations were. It was ruled that we did not have the manpower to sit down and be a manual calculator to oversee every input was correct. We attempted to reach outside of staff for help completing a cruncher/calculator because we do not have a lot or even moderate amount of coding experience. Well, to be frank the person we asked in lack of a better term gave us the middle finger and said he would've taken months (when the calculator we are looking for and now trying to work on ourselves would only take a fraction of that time). It was also ruled that we were going to skip the first and work ahead and harder on the next one. We have not confirmed this but we are at least honest about what happened. Now personally, I'm disappointed in the activity (there is evidently a healthy 10 give or take) players that are still interested and willing to continue and I know real life happens away from the internet but it still upsets me to see roughly half of the players missing. I want to personally ask you guys, the players, what can possibly be done to help expand or help this event thrive? Lastly, we wanted to ask if anyone here would be willing to help us out with figuring out our combat calculator. I know that it is our problem to begin with, but we could really use the help. Thank you all for reading this post, and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to privately contact one of us or post in the thread.

Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
I just haven't had a lot of time to play lately, I go in and out of FFR activity phases. When I'm active again, I would get back into it.

Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
I could try and do a calculator in ProcessingJS, just give me some info to work with (i.e. how the stats come into play. Also, update the Rejuvenator in the spreadsheet? :P)
Also, I was bored a couple of days ago so I recreated the shop in MC signs to the best I could for funsies over the course of some days. ...I have a lot of free time, and I could create other formatted signs. As for the RPG itself, I think it's because the stats haven't really come into play. We haven't had the dungeon yet, and the quests are just there for a thing to do so far. |

Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
If I miss a quest due to circumstances outside of my control (see: 3400 miles away), and I won't be back within two weeks, I'm gonna permanently drop behind and that feeling of Ill never catch up kinda sucks
Maybe some random events that could happen during a quest of sorts that affect some people in a not-too-significant way and also indirectly relevant to their stats, just so they can have an effect. Also, unforeseen things tend to be kinda cool amidst everything else here that can be mostly carefully planned out |

Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
Hi, I'd like to sign up if that's possible!
Name: Yara Class: Vindicator Difficulty: D2-ish (don't really know, but I haven't played in a long time so I'm a bit rusty) I'd also like a pointer on where to get started! What quests are open to me? |

That brings up something too. If we are getting further and further along in this, maybe the monsters (quests) could give more exp. Just a suggestion though Last edited by 2EdgedVictory; 07-22-2015 at 06:32 PM.. |

The quests there should all be available, you can always check the expiration date as well. Week 5 will be done tonight it looks like, and I would expect to see the Week 7 novice quest soon. EDIT: While I'm here, I finally managed this one. There were a lot of heart-breaking sdg+1miss runs, sigh.

Also @Deidara we always keep missing you for some reason!!! :[ I cannot update now however so hopefully another staff member can by the end of the night; if not then I can snag em all in the morning as per usual! @Khenra, welcome aboard! A staff member will add you and create your own personal tab for your character! We will also be using leaderboard placement for your divisional boundaries, and if you don't have a LB rank then I will personally look at your level ranks and conclude where you are accurately placed.

Re: The FFR Step-RPG (Status: Active)
Meanwhile, in the calculator, I've reached v0.1 (get the objects in place, no actual fighting or GUI yet). However, I can't figure out how to make a function to take the classID (a numerical one) to return the actual class name using an array and a for loop. Oh, the joys of ProcessingJS... |
