Fixed because there is only the default noteskin in legacy (not trying to be a dick, but in case newer players view this and get confused).

Really? I'm sure you could use a browser too, but I figured most people with rates would use a standalone player.

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
I read a bit of this guide last night. Looks good overall, I'm gonna go take another look and see if there's any extra tips I can suggest.
Because on-site will automatically use whatever the latest flash player you have installed is. Chances are you already have something later than Flash Player 10 so this was never an issue for you. |

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
hi
my tip for anybody who dislikes competition: stay casual, stay optimistic, play what's fun for you, achieve what you think needs to be achieved, and don't rage at the game, your keyboard or anything that goes towards judging a file, i.e. "this file sucks because of x and x"... rage at yourself for not trying enough I've played with this in mind for a few years and I've made it quite far !! and some quotes I've thought about through my time on this site which I think are important to be taken into consideration in order to keep the atmosphere nice and clean for everybody around here: - let others brag for you, keep your arrogance for yourself - and learn how to properly share proper scores, both for your own and our good Keeping a nice atmosphere here for everybody is important, yo Last edited by Xayphon; 12-28-2014 at 01:24 PM.. |

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
Couple of things I think I can add:
1 - During long FFR sessions, it's probably a good idea to mix up the difficulty of the songs you're playing. If you're trying to unlock Otaku Speedvibe [Oni], don't just play nonstop FMO's and up. The more FMO's you attempt and fail to AAA, the more frustrated you're going to find yourself. Take a break and play some songs you know for sure you can AAA and just take it easy for a while. 2 - Some people do well under pressure. Me personally, I tend to crack under pressure, so this advice is more for people like me. Don't always think too hard about how well you're going to do on a song. Oddly enough, I've made big improvements on songs simply by not caring how well I actually do. I don't feel any pressure from thinking "I really hate this song, watch me get a few BS misses" and I don't feel any pressure from thinking "I'm so close to AAAing this song, I have to get the AAA this time!" I just relax and have fun with the game, and any improvements come naturally. 3 - If you're using R^3, always always always always keep Amazing Accuracy on. I've seen a few people say they find it annoying. And, honestly, I can't play that well without it. Having Amazing on makes me more aware of when I start drifting off-beat. If I see I'm picking up a lot of Perfects, I can adjust my speed before I get a Good. Without Amazing timing, there's no clear way for me to tell if I'm starting to drift or not. Those Perfects could be dead on, or they could be on the borderline of being a Good. Amazings help keep me on-beat. |

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
Requesting sticky because sometimes people asking for help on how they should improve their scores gets kind of repetitive and it would be nice to have the sort of cheatbook as to what they could do to improve.
Also it might be worthwhile to add to OP about stamina & endurance practice, more specifically using coins or batteries taped to fingers to mimic weights for stamina & endurance practice. Haven't entirely tried it myself to see if it works, but it would be nice to hear some actual approval from people who have tried it if it does work. Quote:

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
This is a TON of information, but it's all good. This thread was a great idea for new players who want to take the time to scope out some strategies before taking the big dive.
Sticky vote: +1 Plus, I got referenced twice in the OP EDIT: I have to agree with gold stinger. Amazing accuracy is extremely distracting to me and it's very easy to correct your judge offset in the event that the desired amazing:perfect ratio isn't achieved.

I've requested a sticky as well, but I need to add more to the guide. I'm still working on video clips.

Still working on this. There were a few more things I was willing to add, and discovered some other things as well that I thought were pretty important.

Re: Mahou's FFR Guide/Tools
fix the bold tag, you should mention that a frame rate of 31+ will allow you to play songs that are longer than 9 minutes. May want to link this http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=137914
