[TWG] Poll: Remove Deathposts?

I think its time, my fellow TWGers. For years, deathposts have been a source of a hearty chuckle when someone gets nightkilled. Some of you have pretty A+ deathposts, and it does make me honestly a little sad to call for this but...
I think it needs to happen. A lot of people still, after all this time, don't understand the rules, and it confuses new players when they see dead players post, although it can be explained, the rules around it are often not explained well enough.

They are unique to FFR, they are funny (most of the time), and I like them. But they have before (No one messes with the frog, for instance), but I really think that its time we get rid of them.

People keep either toeing the line (accidentally) or crossing over it (again, accidentally) and I don't know about you guys but I'd really rather not have games ruined for the sake of a small laugh, especially with how much you guys make me laugh/smile already.

Last time this was brought up the general consensus was that deathposts kinda aren't great, and if I'm the only one now, that's fine, I'll find out from making this thread.

Would like some feedback from other players regarding their votes.

I mean as long as it is a legit deathpost I'm fine with it

petition: make the user pm the host what they want to put in their death post, and have the host confirm that it's ok to post what they want to post after death.

death posts (in the rules) are supposed to be unobtrusive (not like dabackpack's movie script), and contain nothing pertaining to the game.

Death posts are great

I think running it by the host is a little crappy, I think just adding a penalty for being a twat about it might be the easy way to go.

Maybe force the reminder into the OP's of games

Like current timers and the like.

I like yosh's idea + xel's.
make the penalty a game ban instead of modkilling to prevent messing the game up.
and if the post is supposed to be something along the lines of "good playing, see you guys in the post game" or whatever, it's fair to PM that to the host and allow them to post it, to avoid confusion.

It's pretty cut and paste what is and what isn't allowed.
For instance what Storn did this last game I would consider an example of negative death posting. If he thought his post was in time, he should've pm'd it to Zenith for clarification instead of making a double death post. There were other people who died in the night who made straightforward death posts like Roundbox who said something to the effect of "gg guys, see you all in post game" which is fine.


*Not taking the stance that Storn should get a ban here, just using that as an example.

A couple other sites specifically mention that they are NOT allowed or will have certain roles in some games that will allow the person to make a deathpost, so long as it is done quickly after they die

I understand the controversy here against Deathposts because some people (like myself the last time I played) don't recall that deathposting is only allowed when a person is nightkilled and is not allowed when a player is lynched. However, some issue arises when players get carried away (a.k.a storn in the Storm game) and also get borderline speaking of some matter about the game like "Oh didn't think this would've killed me" or some form of reiteration pertaining to the game.

In my personal opinion, deathposts are okay here and shouldn't be expunged. FFRTWG isn't a tight-knit group however we all practically know one another and it isn't a difficult task to nudge a new player teaching them how things run with certain mechanics like deathposting.
