That could be pretty cool, I think this has came up in discussion before but my memory of it is pretty blurry. It could be a little side event similar to what the D2 guys are doing. I actually think we could use some of these side events/spon-cons, jmo.

I barely got improvement because I got nervous and dumped misses. Also, I barely have enough stamina to make it through this file while hitting almost every note without my arm starting to hurt. ._.

I may edit this post later to avoid spamming if I get a better score.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and belated congrats on Scarhand Deidara, I didn't even see that, lol.

I just tried FFRmania so these ideas came up while I was playing.

I've been wanting to include songs from ffrmania for a while. There's a ton of good stuff in there. I don't want to put a time constraint on a reward (beyond the standard week per songlist) because it's unfair to those who only have time to play for a few hours a week. So it would be implemented as if you achieve X accomplishment, you get X credits. This would either always be open (sort of like skill tokens), or weekly alongside the normal weekly songs. Both "always open" and "weekly challenges" have their own characteristics and implementations. Let me think about this over the next few days.

Personally, I like the idea of having 'always open' challenges and adding a couple each week.

Also, I swear I'll get points and credits for week 7 done tonight.

Edit 2: Nevermind! This just happened! Right after switching to a QWOP setup. I'm thinking my touchpad is largely responsible for the BS misses I get occasionally and I touch it less with the QWOP setup. Now if I could just improve my score on Ah Shwe Bah....

just to illustrate how hard Sleep is for me (for some reason) check out this replay of Shitsubou Choco and then the replay of Sleep that I got (which I played right after my amazing score on Choco).

How in the hell did I get better PA on Choco?!

FFRMania Challenge Songs Are Underway!

What are these challenge songs?
Challenge Songs are charts from FFRMania with Skill Token like challenges attached to them. You will get a credit reward for completing the challenges. Each challenge will have a particular one-time credit payout. Anyone on the D4/D5 Rivalry spreadsheet can complete these challenges.

Umm, what's FFRmania?
FFRMania is a non-official engine with hundreds of Stepmania files (without the holds, mines and whatnot), such as the FFR Community and Seasonal Packs, Nuclear Blast Jumpstream Packs, and ODI Packs. The engine also includes a load of dump packs such as the Rebound, Mina, and Midare dump packs for a challenge unlike anything the official engine has to offer. Refer to the FFR Standalone guide for the details on loading the engine.

How long are the rewards for completing challenges available?
Challenges are permanent for as long as I'm managing this thread. I'll be adding challenges every week along with the normal weekly songs. They will be posted in-thread as well as on a separate page off the main spreadsheet.

How do I submit the scores on the Challenge Songs?
Screenshots are the best way. Just post them in the rivalry thread, and I will reward the player with credits in a timely manner.

So what are the charts the first group of challenges?

Challenge 1: It's Time To Party!
AAA It's Time To Party! from Rebound Dump Collection Megapack 1. Reward: 500 credits.

Challenge 2: Enigma
Score better than 39250 on Enigma from the Red Faction Pack. Reward: 650 credits.

Challenge 3: It's In Your Melody
FC It's In Your Melody from Rebound Dump Collection Megapack 2. Reward: 1200 credits


Due to FFRMania's size, it takes me some time to sift though the songs to find charts I think others will enjoy and have reasonable reward requirements for this rivalry's skill level. If you have ideas for songs to add to the challenges, please PM me about them. I'd be happy to discuss ideas anyone has.

I'll update the spreadsheet with the challenges this evening.
