Oregon is a blue state thanks to Portland and Eugene. Everywhere else, including where I live, is red territory. So using my state as an example, while they may not be the popular majority, there's still enough secessionists out there that they'll definitely be noticed. Honestly, unless you live in one of those two cities, you would think Oregon is a red state. I pass several "NOBAMA" signs on the road on my way to work every day. My own state's secession petition has 12,389 signatures as of this moment. Not entirely surprising, but a little bit higher than I thought it would be.

Just as an update, the following states have also created petitions to secede (in addition to the 20 on Fox News' map):
Kansas, Virginia, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Illinois, Idaho, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Utah, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, California, Delaware, Nevada, and Arizona. This brings the total to 41 states.

Oh, and there's also this: NSFW!

You understand that anybody can make a petition there at any time, and the same people can vote on all of them, whether they have anything to do with that state at all or not yes?

These things mean NOTHING except "Some people whose party lost the election are upset that their party lost the election" that they've chosen to be extra-tasty-morons about it just proves what a relief it was that their party lost.

Edit: Also, there's a petition there now calling for him to be impeached for reasons that include his presumed failure to uphold the constitution which he swore to protect, by doing things that would modify the constitution. These people realise that the 2nd amendment was an AMENDMENT to the constitution yes?

So all we're learning is that the majority of the GOP voter base would fail a 9th grade civics class. Not surprising.

I think we already knew this from the fact that they voted Romney.

This whole mess feels analogous to the cranky, spoiled kid who cries, "I'm running away and never coming back!" before fleeing to the backyard treehouse. Once it starts raining and the batteries in his Nintendo DS die out, he drags his ass back home.

like yeah what you said applies in swing states like FL and CO but with overwhelmingly liberal states like NY and NJ gaining traction it doesnt really apply at all
