Steam Winter Sale 2014
I know it's a day late, but...
I just wanted to make this thread because right now one of the deals is $4 on Deus Ex Human Revolution. If you ever wanted to play this game, well... now it's priced as much as a McDonald meal!!! |

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
Recent Steam sales have been okay, but the ones in the past, like the 2010 Christmas sale was the best. There were bundles that were from 80 to 92% off. Now it's rare to find anything better than 75%. I never find myself spending too much for the recent sales they have. It's not that they're bad, but they don't make me want to buy anything. I might grab Dark Souls for $5 because I've never played it before.

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
I just bought six games, a few of which I have already played and enjoyed very much, but I couldn't be happier with this year's sale.
I've bought: Kairo (Wanted to check it out) Castle Crashers (One of my favorite games) Super Meat Boy (Played but never owned) Fallout: New Vegas (My sister wanted this so bought it for a gift) Hotline: Miami (In love with this game) Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (I've played other MGS games so might as well try this)

Actually, all three of the Arkham games are $5 each.

Anything good that would run on 2010 hardware? (I don't use the desktop much but I still have a rig which uses a GTX 295)

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
There aren't really any must-have games on sale for me, so I probably won't buy anything for myself unless FF 13 and/or 13-2 go on big sales (which is doubtful considering they were just released on steam). Might get a game for my brother, though.
Kinda sad they changed the community's choice from once every 8 hours to once every 24. Last edited by tosh; 12-19-2014 at 01:23 PM.. |

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
Nothing that really interests me. I'd love a new game to play since I don't really have anything at the moment.

Watch me FFR, I've resisted the Winter Steam Sale for the past 6 years, I'll do it again.
Currently playing 7 Days to Die, have been recommended Beyond Earth & Reus by my brother who is some sort of unofficial game connoisseur. Last edited by gold stinger; 12-19-2014 at 03:07 PM.. |

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
Waiting for NEKOPARA Vol.1 to be released (^:
On a side note I might pick up fault milestone one and Hate Plus to read, and Shantae: Risky's Revenge to play. The discounts aren't that great but I'll be playing those this month. To whoever likes puzzle platformers, Escape Goat is only $1.24 (-75%) and for a puzzle metroidvania experience, La-Mulana is $2.99 (-80%). |

I tend to look for the $10 games that are 75% off like Hotline Miami is and go for those more than anything. By far the best game I've bought on sale would be Metal Gear Rising, from $30 down to $5.99 Since I'm rambling now, I might as well say that even though I don't own games that I really like and would love to own them myself, I still go out of my way of finding a decently priced game to check out since I like to stay out of the comfort zone when referring to games. Kairo was one of these games, as well as MGR

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
Picked up Wings of Vi and Crypt of the Necrodancer so far. Both are pretty great.
Anyone that liked super meat boy should definitely pick up wings, it's an insanely hard platformer and pretty fun so far. Necrodancer reminds of Binding of isaac vs Rhythm gaming, basically. It's not nearly as in depth as isaac but it's still in development and it's pretty hard regardless. The music is good too. Want to pick up some final fantasy games but nothing is going on sale for more than 33% =/ I'll probably break down and grab them on Jan 2nd if nothing else happens between now and then.

Re: Steam Winter Sale 2014
Got Assassins Creed 2 and played it, great game. Solid 30 hours of enjoyment to get it completed 100% (getting 100/100 feathers was boring tho).
My main complaint really was just that the ending is confusing as fuck and a blatant cliffhanger (the main character literally says "What the fuck?" in confusion during the ending cutscene, mirroring the confusion of the person playing the game) And I watched my friend play all of the original Assassins Creed, so I knew the whole Altair backstory and stuff, too, and it was still confusing. Anyway is AC3 worth getting? I was planning on getting 4 and Unity sometime maybe in a few years when they are cheaper.
