Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
Thanks man but I've sent them back, save them for someone who actually plays this game lol
And good luck with it, I'd cringe to death if I had to "showcase" my stepmania skills to a bunch of random people. |

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
I went back today and he said that what I was trying to do was becoming too techinaclly complicated. He tried talking to other people to see if he can bing down the projector screen or find a replacement somehow but no dice. I begged the school to bring down the projector screen and they no. So rest hopes and dreams to play at a talent show, it is officially over.

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
That sucks, but totally makes sense considering that the teachers could hardly set up the overhead projector back in the days.

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
Ya I know it sucks. The one thing that really screwed me over was that we could not bring down the projector screen from the ceiling and well also FFR being too boring to watch for the audience in my teachers opinion. Also people will question the genuinity of my skill because getting almost all perfects on a song is extremely questionable at my skill level for people that don't play rhythm games and they will assume I cheated.

I don't think the average person will care whether you're legit or not.

This is a hard-egg case of 'parents don't like it so students probably won't like it either, also here's an excuse because we're lazy and because we were expecting bands with amps with the batteries built inside the amps'.
Sorry to hear they didn't want to have things the way you wanted them to be, brother. Last edited by gold stinger; 12-23-2015 at 01:57 PM.. |

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
I have a best friend in real life that used to play DDR with me when I was about 15. We had a talent show at my high school as well, and he was going to play max 300 on pad for his event. After the trying out, the teacher who was running this event denied him from being in the show - mainly because this teacher didn't think that playing DDR was a good enough talent compared to the other people who were going to be singing or dancing (nothing really that involves legitimacy). The whole point of me saying that is it all kind of depends on the beholder's (the one who run's the show) biased decisions.
When I was about your age, I did like to show off ITG and DDR to people. It makes you feel better because you've worked hard to get to a certain point in the game (also the fact there really isn't a huge amount of people who play on our standards); however, I don't really feel this particular skill is so unique and hype to the point that people would try to understand what's really going on (even if you just try to casually explain it). Usually what tends to happen is people get this feeling of "whoa, omg" moment for a few minutes, and then the attention span goes elsewhere. Sorry to see that you didn't get to participate over a dumb projector.

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
I would erupt. Setting up a projector is too "technically complicated"?????? Fucking please what is this 1998???? Too boring to watch? It's less than 3 minutes, go fuck yourself.. your face is too boring to watch in social studies class, you bitch. They think people will call you a cheater face? Suck my dick while you watch my fingers hit every last button. Still think I'm cheating? Just because you have a tiny dick doesn't mean everyone else on the planet does, k? Also my name is darkedge22 not jhlee0133 thanks bye.

I watched some kid play EVE Online for 5 minutes for the same class in which I played FFR. It was insufferable.

Re: Playing FFR at a talent show
Thanks for the credits, shame about the result though. They sound like the kind of people who would have turned around to a young Krystian Zimerman and said can't you just bring your own keyboard? I mean getting a piano in here is such a hassle!
