Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
Honestly I'd take Halo 3, Skate 3 or Crysis 2 over any COD.

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
This is what I believe to be true. I never played a Call of Duty before Black Ops, but I can't sit through the story mode all the way, and zombies got old (although they DID improve it, Kino Der Toten is a near perfect map for zombies, Ascension is just overkill 9000.)
I only play multiplayer, and tactical games. Some of the maps are terrible, some are really good. What I notice from a lot of my friends is that they'll only use assault rifles and SMGs. I made a SMG class, an assault rifle class, a shotgun class (which is beast as **** ghost, steady aim, and ninja all pro,) an LMG class, a sniper class, and then my 6th class is what I use to do contracts when they ask for a specific gun/attachment/perk. Whenever I die, I switch to the next class on the list. I believe THIS is how you keep the game fun. If you're running around with assault rifles owning everybody all the time it would get old quick. |

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
I think that's a pretty terrible policy. You're going to be missing out on some pretty amazing games, like;
Bioshock - Remains the number one in my library for best environment and best story telling. The Half Life series Portal - Kind of doesn't count anyways. Borderlands Sure, a lot of the FPS games being released nowadays can be generic and redundant, but just as many of them are truly great games. When a genre is popular, more games in that genre are going to be developed, and more of those games are going to be copies of successful games in that genre. There's no reason to stay away from a genre just because it seems to be the most prominent at the time. |

I love first person shooters, but you gotta note that there will always be haters of any game. My opinion of why Black Ops didn't live up to my expectations is that compared to MW2, the multiplayer is far worse. The only decent game type in Black Ops was TDM and that can be found in practically any shooter that has multiplayer.

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
FPS is such a broad term to determine a game. First off, CoD is more of a FPS Simulator, where as games that ninjaKIWI named are more of FPS Adventures. Big difference, and they have two completely different crowds.
BlackOps is just another FPS Simulator game sure. But just because it's another FPS doesn't make it a terrible game, it all depends on preference. If you like typical FPS' then you'll be content with CoD. But what makes BlackOps a bad game isn't the fact that it's a generic FPS; it's that it has a terrible story, and the multiplayer is more bugged out that MW2's. |

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
Honestly the only game type i can enjoy in BlackOps is SnD. In MW2 i was fine playing anything but domination, really, and i didn't mind quickscopers or rushers or anything, most were pretty bad when you faced them with a gun you could actually use, or tacknifed (which i really miss). Also, riot shields. Practically the most fun weapon in that game, and they simply removed it. It actually took skill to use, despite what people say, and was pretty easy to get around if you weren't a tard (use an lmg, stick em, jump shot, etc). The only thing i really don't miss from MW2 is the copious amounts of modded weapons. I enjoy using the FAL personally, but when everybody bitches at every kill you get because you MUST be modding, it gets ****ing annoying. So far i haven't seen much of it in BlackOps, so i have a better time with the FAL in it. Even though i only really enjoy the one game type in BlackOps, i must say i love the ability to customize all the tiny shit like what color your dots are and what they look like. Teal triple dot with yellow lens > bland red dot imo.

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
There are pros and cons to each COD individually. I play COD only for the MP experience really and only a little of the campaign. I cant really decide which one I like more and so I am just gonna say I like them all but just not for the same reason.
I love MW2 for its quickscoping, graphics, and better connections, and I love BOs for sorta getting rid of the noobtubing fiasco that was on MW2 and its new unlock system, stats, new ways to earn xp, and its customability (more cammos, face paint, playercard, putting clan tag and emblem on your gun). I loved the zombie maps from WAW the most and I like Ascension for its size but I hate how easy they made Ascension. I could think of MANY ways they could improve zombies.

MLG is a poor gimmick of a league. GB is even worse. You need to look at CAL, CPL, WCG and CEVO (which is up and running season 14). That shit is real. ****ing counterstrike is the most competitive FPS out there, and not to mention, hardest to play. CoD is for tryhards and wannabe pubstars (pubstars are still bad lol) ESEA.... scrubs join ESEA (we all agreed in ventrilo) Last edited by LJRoX; 03-25-2011 at 12:57 AM.. |

Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
There's two things I hate about black ops.
1. Too balanced, doesn't make the game addicting like mw2 or cod4. What's the difference between a Famas and an Aug. There is none, no killstreak stacks = no fun. 2. The ping issues, AKA GETTING KILLED THROUGH A ****ING WALL, this makes this game so damn annoying, I seriously rage every time this happens to me, the delay is beyond ****ing annoying. This game still has way to many bugs to fix out, it seems this is still not even a complete project, in MW2 I could actually GO PRONE FOR COVER WITHOUT DYING. Doesn't really matter much to me anymore, I quit gaming pretty much anyways. |

Black Ops was my first COD game, and I don't really find any major fault with it to be honest, at least as far as multiplayer goes (I don't care for the campaign). I find a minor fault in the scoring system when someone who is 17-22 gets a higher overall score than someone who goes 15-3. Happens to me too much lol. It seems like a very well balanced game with no overpowered weapons, which is really a blessing (see: noobtubes in MW2 and various other examples). Some of the maps are ass, granted, but some are killer and overall I actually enjoy playing Black Ops. No skin off my back if the rest of you don't like it, I'm going to keep playing. Re: Is BlackOps Really That Bad To People?
I know man playing a pointless video game for money, that'll get you somewhere in life, that's WAY better than going to college and actually being educated, and getting a somewhat decent job, **** that, I'm just gonna sit on the couch and try and get better at this dumb game when I really can't.
