Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
Ok played this with 19 people on a different forum recently, was pretty interesting. They hate master wolves so they weren't pleased with that role but people on here seem to like those. i'll just copy/paste roles and stuff to see if theres an interest but it does seem a bit ambitious on this site.
It can be played with 18 people as well instead The Setup 1X Wolves Alpha Wolf with no n0 actions 3X Wolves Vanilla with no n0 actions 10X Village Vanilla with no n0 actions 1X Village Seer with an n0 action 1X Village Trollop with no n0 actions 1X Village Herbalist with no n0 actions 1X Village Lunatic with no n0 actions 1X Gypsy Gypsy with no n0 actions PMs: Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Wolves team. Your role is: Alpha Wolf! The Alpha is the elder werewolf who has spawned the other werewolves. The Alpha starts the game knowing the identities of all werewolves and of the gypsy. As an elder werewolf, the Alpha is more powerful than the normal werewolves and appears human to the seer. Once per game, the Alpha can (if still alive) kidnap any one target, and perform a ritual on them that makes them lose whatever special role they might have had and become a werewolf instead. You win by eliminating all villagers (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. Your Team is: XXX The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Wolves team. Your role is: Vanilla! The werewolves are plaguing the town. During the day they look like normal humans, but at night they transform into hideous beasts. The werewolves know who each other are from the start of the game, and also know the identities of the alpha wolf and the gypsy. Each night, the werewolves confer with each other and select a victim between them. This victim is slain by the werewolves. You win by eliminating all villagers (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. Your Team is: XXX The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Village team. Your role is: Vanilla! You win by eliminating all wolves (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Village team. Your role is: Seer! The seer has prophetic and strange dreams. Each night, the seer dreams about a single player of their choice. When the seer awakens the following morning, they can interpret their dreams to discover whether the target dreamed about is human or wolf. The seer does not discover whether or not the target has a special role. Should the peek fail to occur for any reason the seer will not receive a PM. You win by eliminating all wolves (not including Gypsy). You have an n0 action. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Village team. Your role is: Trollop! By day, the Trollop is a respectable villager. Each night, however, the Trollop dons a disguise and secretly selects a "client" to visit. They spend the night with their chosen player, and consequently the player is prevented from performing any night-time activities that their role would otherwise let them perform. If Trollop visits the wolf who is putting in the kill, the wolf kill doesn’t happen. The Trollop may not visit the same player on consecutive nights. The Trollop also protects whoever they are with that night from any night time activities being performed on them. There will be no PMs sent in regards to the Trollop. You win by eliminating all wolves (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Village team. Your role is: Herbalist! The herbalist is wise in the ways of natural medicine, and can prepare wolvesbane to keep the wolves at bay. Each night, the herbalist prepares enough wolvesbane to protect the house of a single player from being entered by werewolves. The power of the wolvesbane fades in the morning, so the protection only lasts for a single night. Unfortunately, a house needs to be thoroughly cleansed before it can be protected in this way. This causes two problems for the herbalist. Firstly, the herbalist's own house has so many other herbs in it that the wolvesbane is swamped by their scent and cannot be effectively cleansed - so the herbalist cannot use their wolvesbane to protect themself. Secondly, the need to let a house air before protecting it again means that the herbalist cannot protect the same house on two consecutive nights. Note…. Since it is wolvesbane it only protects from wolf kills…it does not protect from loon kills. There will be no PMs sent in regards to the Herbalist. You win by eliminating all wolves (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Village team. Your role is: Lunatic! Although the lunatic appears normal during the day, each night after the first night they must go out under the influence of the moon and slay another player of their choice. There is a method to the lunatic's madness, however, and the lunatic's goal is to slay the wolves since only then can the madness end. The lunacy that brings death also brings insight, and the lunatic will recognize the exact role (whether special or not) of the victim they have just killed. You win by eliminating all wolves (not including Gypsy). You have no n0 actions. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Quote: ************************************************* You are on the Gypsy team. Your role is: Gypsy! An evil human who wishes to see the village consumed by the wolves. In this game the wolves will know who the gypsy is but the gypsy will not know who the wolves are and won't be able to participate in wolfchat. You win by eliminating all villagers. You have no n0 actions. The game thread is here: Good luck! ************************************************* Theres also voting for a 2x vote mayor: Mayoral Election ends 5pm EST on Day 1. Order of Operations: Trollop/Herb/Loon/Wolf/Conversion/Seer PMs are limited to Lunatic, Seer and Death. Aside from wolfchat there will be no communication outside this thread. Every day, the town chooses one person to lynch. It is then revealed whether that person is human or wolf. At night, specials and wolves get to perform certain activities (described below) The winning team is the team that completely kills the other team (except the humans don't have to kill the gypsy) Special Role: The Mayor (Generally good but could be a werewolf!) - Unlike the other special characters, the Mayor is not assigned by the Moderator, but is voted in by the players on day 1. As such, the player holding the Mayor's position can also hold another special role. The Mayor has 2x the vote power (will be calculated at EOD/not in periodic vote counts). The Mayor votes in their successor upon death via mod PM. This must be done before 5pm the next day. After that point the successor is named in the thread and their vote counts worth 2. |

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
also a different idea that looks ridiculously funny is google translate edition: everyone gets a different language they use for the whole game, they type their post into google translate using that language. they will then copy and paste that result back into English and post that in the thread. it looks ridiculous but funny, would be a standard setup like:
1 seer 3 wolves 9 vanilla humans |

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
apparently that setup can be played from 12-20 players, but I only found one for a 15 man setup that seems more realistic.
exact same setup as above except 7 vanilla villagers instead of 10, and 2 vanilla wolves instead of 3 and still no out of thread talk |

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
I'm game for AIM, but we would need to check the roles for whatever game we pick. seems like out-of-thread communication can break some otherwise balanced setups.

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
ya like it doesn't matter to me I'll play whatever, just wouldn't host the one I listed as an AIM game so we should think of something else then, or whatever manti was planning

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
google translate sounds like the absolute best thing ever, but I doubt it's ideal for 16+ players.
let's see, what else is there to steal edit: also google translate WITH outside communication doesn't work edit2: everything on mafiawiki is intended for no AIM does that mean we have to actually think Last edited by dAnceguy117; 10-14-2013 at 09:38 PM.. |

I have an idea but it would have to wait until I do nanowrimo since the idea is a bit complicated to work on... Edit: it's a 16 player game but like I said, needs to be fully fleshed out...

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
this one looks doable with AIM. still not a huge game but bigger than 13.
Jungle Anarchy 3 teams, 15 players total 3 Mafia Goons 2 Werewolves 1 Vigilante and 9 Vanilla Townies Any outside communication allowed Cardflipping on Daystart Werewolves have a standard nightkill Mafia do not get a nightkill Mafia get a (nightly) factional roleblock |

Re: TWG CII: Host Signups
Ok well if it gets picked I can tell ppl want out of thread talk so it just has to be on an honour system. Like if someone is caught talking to you not using translate then report them and they can be modkilled
