Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
The Men Who Stare At Goats - Okay, maybe not totally worthy of being on this list of incredibly bad films but let me just say that this movie bored me to tears.
Quarantine - Hey, I got an idea, let's take a mediocre 80s thriller film, re-shoot it entirely first person and shoot it with a handycam. NO. NO, NO, NO. I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry - I watched this when I was 15. If I didn't find it funny then, I definitely wouldn't find it funny now. Just a horrible excuse to take two actors and pretend they're gay. The Last Airbender - oh god ****. Do I even need to explain this one? I shouldn't have to, but for eff's sake they couldn't even pronounce the names right. Before this film came out, I was willing to give some movies that people were saying were terrible because I'd seen very few films quite this bad before. Now I'm very cautious about making sure I don't pay $10 for a nap. And now, for the worst film of them all.... DRUMROLL PLEASE.... Meet the Spartans - Another one I shouldn't have to explain. Inserting adverts for various corporations in a completely random and retarded context != a funny movie. This is the kind of thing that MAY HAVE (and I stress that) been a funny 30-second superbowl ad, but not a FULL LENGTH FILM. I propose that the directors be SHOT ON SIGHT for producing such an awful disgrace of a film. I am so glad that I watched a pirated copy of this and did not actually pay to watch it.

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
Deliverance - the old movie, like 80's or something. For me, it was just... the squeal-like-a-pig rape, the violence... it was just. Yeah. And I've seen all the Saws, I've seen The Last House of the Left, and normally I'm not squeamish about violence, but to me that movie just took everything way too far. I've been told to watch it again, that the violence was meant to be felt emotionally, but I refuse.
Jack and Jill - saw it recently, so maybe it needs time to sort of settle to the back of my mind, but I really, really, really hated this movie. God. Uhhhh what else Diary of a Wimpy Kid - saw it in a bus of people finding this movie hilarious. Grown men included, laughing belly laughs over his pissing on people. To me the protagonist was just a wimpy asshole. these probably have a lot to do with my mood, when you get to movies bad to this extreme, but these are the movies I now avoid like the plague. |

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
I know I'm probably going to get some hate for this, but I'd have to say Scott Pilgrim VS. The World. Although the music is fantastic in the film, the plot itself just doesn't interest me at all. I could care less about a boy trying to get a specific girl, regardless of all the trouble he has to go through to win her heart. Just not my cup of tea. And the animations just got me irritated since there is so many special effects in that movie (to what I remember) that it's not even remotely interesting. Whenever my friends are trying to decide on a movie, and they mention Scott Pilgrim, I immediately just say, "HELLO ****ING NO!". I watched the movie twice in my life, never again.

I think I can vouch for everyone when I say Home Alone 4: Taking Back The House.
TV movie or not, that shit just isn't acceptable.

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
I'd have to say The Human Centipede. That movie had terrible foreshadowing, terrible acting, terrible plot. "Hey I'm gonna catch you after trying to run away and make you the middle piece so you can eat s*** and s*** in someones mouth" The writer/director was stupid enough to even open it for a sequel. If they killed all but 1 person off in the first one, what makes you think the second one will make sense or even be good for that matter?

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
The second one was worse. MUCH worse.
The fact that they're also making a third one is what kills me the most. |

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
The Human Centipede did manage to take the crown from Hostel in terms of bad, gory movies that simply got a lot of viewers due to its content.
Some of the worst movies I've ever seen include Alone in the Dark, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Ghost Ship, and The Hitcher (remake). |

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
I saw The Men Who Stare at Goats and can vouch for that being a completely awful movie. Self-consciously "quirky," completely directionless, in between being funny and serious in the most awful way possible (I think it's one of those movies that mistakes the "suggestion" of something funny, or a weird concept, for something like an actual joke.) I know I just said that I liked Burn After Reading in spite of its directionlessness, but that movie at least had some sort of momentum, and was funny as hell to boot; Men Who Stare at Goats had neither of those.
I watched Sling Blade for something like five minutes on the recommendation of a family friend and I thought it was a ****ing joke. Billy Bob Thornton came off as so cloying and so fake--hell, they even made a negative stereotype of that kind of "hey look I'm retarded, isn't that touching" performance in Tropic Thunder! I seriously thought it was parody; couldn't believe those overbearing ****ing tics and vocal hums were supposed to actually portray an actually retarded person. Pretty sure it wouldn't have gotten better. So yeah, agree on that. I liked Scott Pilgrim's use/occasional inversion of the "nerdy guy gets the girl" plot in clever and inventive ways. The movie was funny and full of color and music--very pleasing to me. I was happy all the way through. Good stuff overall.

Ong-Bak 3. That movie was just two terrible hours of Tony Jaa being spiritual and holy. There was probably ten seconds worth of fighting in the entire film.
Just, utter garbage.

Re: Least favorite movie of all time?
1911
A Jackie Chan directed film that's supposedly a historical drama about the Xinhai Revolution. With terrible pacing, questionable directing, and even horrible sound effects, this movie tries to explain so much without emotionally engaging and interesting the viewer. EDIT: It switches between action thriller and tragic drama erratically. And something is wrong when Jackie Chan is the best actor in the movie and only has one 30 second fight scene. Breaking Dawn Part 1 What more can I say about this? There is almost no dialogue between the characters and the lack of interesting turning points and revelations in this movie gives the feeling that the movie studios just broke the book into two parts so that they would get more money. I don't think the book is long enough to warrant two parts like HP7 or the Godfather, even though I haven't read it.
