Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
to those who are interested, best buy is having playable demos of the new smash bros game at select locations.

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
I had used the Wii Classic Controller Pro for the longest time getting ready for Wii U Smash, GCC adapter is sick tho. Still like the button "triggers" way more on CCP but that's just me. Should be solid, can't wait

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
I hope this means they might bring back light shielding considering the wii u pro and gamepad also have analog shoulder buttons.
Anyways, gonna revive this melee talk. How's everyone doing in their local scenes? I'm curious to see who's actually sticking around. I was somehow able to take a game off of Florida's current #4 player, Porkchops. The guy is insane. I'm usually okay at the Ganon/Falco matchup, but his shield pressure is too good. He ended up getting 2nd, losing to Colbol. I couldn't really find anything I could do out of shield except roll, which worked okay in the second game. First game was just destruction for me since I kept trying to shield grab during pressure, and many technical errors x( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJl-0h3av_0 |

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
I've been playing more PM than Melee lately. I just find it more fun right now. I've definitely improved a lot in both games, but I still have a lot to learn

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
I used to play PM more, but after getting better at melee, I started to see all the flaws in PM's design. I like watching it, but I can't stand playing it.

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
I think it's just the new characters and stages that I like in PM.
That guy has a pretty sick Falco though. Ganon is so fun to play as well |

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
Azen attended his first tournament in nearly 3 years tonight and took Melee singles at S@X. I know it's not a huge tournament, but that's still pretty damn impressive.

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
Two things:
1: 2: Does anyone know if there's any sort of Smash Scene nearby the New Paltz area of NY? I'm gonna be applying there for college. Obviously Smash has no impact on me going there, but would like to know anyway.

Heh, I'm positive I can get in to New Paltz, especially with my SAT/ACT results, but I haven't done too much college searching yet. New Paltz is currently my #1, but hey, things can change.

Re: Competitive Smash Bros.
Another thing: We should keep track of who mains what characters so when people have questions they know who to ask.
Arguably I don't think I'm a great person to ask questions towards, but w/e I currently main as Peach and I recently picked up Ganon as a secondary to get a better grasp of Melee's normal physics/mechanics. Busy pretending I know how to approach/L-Cancel effectively
