Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)
Yeah I decided not to be in depth this time because I realize that half of the time, I don't even know what I'm talking about xD
But I still accounted for everything (at least that's what I think). |

Yeah if you (submitters) want wo submit more files, not forcing notes to judges (only ratings, or just really short comments) is one strong idea.
I think this is fine if they take a lot of time for judges. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)
I really enjoy longer notes, as it does really help in fixing up my files, but if the judges don't want to provide super extensive feedback then that's their decision I think.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)
As a ex judge, what I did was that I would play the file first. If the file was fun and replayable, I would put [+.] (or 6/10) automatically. After that, I go to the editor and kinda scroll through it making sure it does not have any missing/misplaced notes. If the file is free or semi-free of errors then that person gets a [+] (7/10-10/10 will vary based on small mistakes, fun factor, and uniqueness of the file). If the file had some noticeable errors then it will remain a [+.] (6/10)
Also, I usually note somewhere in my notes mentioning that people should PM me if they wanted a longer in-depth review. Usually what happens is that if their file passed judgment, they do not bother to fix the mistakes given to them before it goes public which is another issue with this judging system. It is only when their file does not pass judgment that they would PM the judges because of dissatisfaction with the grades given to them. PS: If people were smart enough, they would talk/PM some of the judges during the submission period and have them review your file ahead of time so you will have time to fix some of the errors given before submitting it to the batch. Doing this will GREATLY increase your chance of your file getting accepted. (*hint hint*) (:

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Submission Closed)
I would provide longer notes but I don't think that's necessary if the stepartist can contact with any of the judges to go through the file together. In fact, I encourage stepartists to do this more since you will learn a lot that way.

Almost halfway done judging.
Think I'm done for tonight, though.
