Windows Media Player opens up to everything
Ok, I don't really understand this. Every time I insert a piece of hardware into one of my laptop's ports, whether it's plugging in my printer or inserting my SD card into its slot, the Windows Media Player program automatically opens up. Clearly my printer should have nothing to do with WMP for instance. I use Windows Vista as my OS (no comments on bashing Vista please, as that is irrelevant to solving the problem).
This isn't a file association issue unlike other troubleshooting problems people have on the net. If my WMP opened to a file type I didn't want, I would simply change the configuration to open up to the file types I want (control panel --> programs --> default programs --> associate a file type or protocol with a program). But my problem seem to occur whenever my laptop registers with an inserted hardware. I tried a thorough search on this issue, but google searches come short on this. Help please????? |
