first part of F5:
3 Sounds From 94 (Tear): Not a bad file overall. Layering was minimalistic though I wish that it could've been layered a bit more. Nice MA file nonetheless. 7.5/10
A.R.P.Z. (Super Smash Man): ****ing 32nd trills lmfao. the jumpjacks are really a pain to be consistent as right after that you have to nail a note after each jump jack. Though the challenge chart does provide to be a good scoring file with the trills. 7/10
Airen (-Joe-): ...Nice file but...wtf. in the beginning, what should've been a triplet were mini-jacks. Why would you do that Joe ;~;. That's really my only complaint but other than that, not bad. 7/10
Angel Eyes (Macgravel): Fun file. Something I would be playing more. Probably one of the few files I may actually play again. 8/10
Aztec Templing (Exige): Lmao this file. The file responsible for cetaka to step it for ODI 2 (not sure if its 2 but correct me if I'm wrong) n/a
Badboy (Bursurk Lurk): lmao this chart. jax @ 400 BPM, then typical hard file from Blurk (since I'll always be a nub forever) n/a
BREATH (Exige): File's decent. Song is ****ing godawful @.@ 6.9999999999999/10
BRIGHTNESS DARKNESS (Cat): rip 6.5/10
Canon-D (2kM): lol2kM, always making files to accomodate different styles~ First off: lol48th trills. Second: PR in the end got wonky as **** with 1-handed mini-trills and shit @.@ sorry, hated this shit. 5.75/10
CAULI FLOWER (HST): MA file. And easy MA files are easy to derp on. Anyhow, typical old-school HST file. nothing more to say. 7.5/10
Chariot (anon vs. cat): gonna review it seprately. Hard: I actually liked this chart. Its being modest within the layering and it doesn't really give the file off as either being too easy or being a pain in the ass. This chart had a perfect flow of both being easy at the slowdown and hard on the speed up. 9/10; Challenge: I see what anon/cat (don't know who stepped which chart), but not really somethign to do when transferring from 24ths to 16ths, especially at two different BPMs. The file got a bit better but I prefer hard over this one. 7/10
Checking You Out (Jimbo): Jimbo <3 File's fun despite minor flaws. The jacks could've been a mini-freeze trill but personally the part where the BPM doubled added replayability~ 8.25/10

will update more along the way~

okay

so it turns out SMGpack2 really isnt that bad

(Ossa) Almsty's OP - overlong and pretty uninteresting but does what it can. would have been much better with a cut.
(Kn33) Ave de Rapina - I really like some of the accents here, but ruined by overly heavy and long freeze usage. also 12th stops **** up the timing on the hands and wreck my score D:
(HST) Blythe - simple but very effective. 24th patterns seem random?
(Ossa) Bossman - this file is freaking fun
(Patashu) Bumpy Genital - nobody does dnb like Patashu does. straightforward and just hard enough to be replayable
(Necros) Butekkai - Necros always has a very pragmatic way of stepping that looks simple but catches the depth of his songs well. same goes here. copy+paste+additional layering looks very sloppy and some of the long freezes interrupt the flow, but overall one of the better files in the pack.
(Tsuka) Cave Story - awesome. freezedumping works well with chiptunes, gotta say
(GLoVE) Confined - interesting use of left-hand bias here but not so much fun to play. feels weird at parts because the file's so sparse but the patterns are so hard
(Kil) Creamy - cute
(Yesssss) Cruisin' - classic file
(Ossa) Destination - quit out at the part with the horrific jumps layered into long jacks. that said, the freeze followed by a note gimmick was effectively used in some parts, but it still mostly felt like overkill.
(Ossa) El Telefono - this is my favorite file from Ossa. easy, chill, and freeze parts flow nicely.
(Kn33) Fear - this is my favorite file from Kn33. beautiful file

will do more later

These old packs aren't old enough. The only ones I ever played were KBMP and F5. :3

i downloaded Xoon 3 again recently, so here's a review of it

250BPM - lul roar u sneaky devil, all the 32nds/64ths was gay so uh 4/10
Beautiful Angel - woah where did trance_core go? this file was really awesome, sure the technical stuff was iffy but this was really fun to tap out 8/10
BLN - really cool file, old schooled. really cool but not really anything outstanding about it 6/10
candy rape - ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the patterns were so bland i passed out on my keyboard 2/10
cirno's perfect math class - this was neat too but the 8th jumps were kinda not necessary 6/10
CONTRACT - raar raar this files so hard but replayable and perfect for scoring 7/10
d-code - i can tell this is old from you moches xd however it still is pretty fun and the song itself didnt have much you could do with it, 6/10
danse macabre - hate to do this but this was the best file in the pack to me 9/10
dazzling destiny - i forgot puppet made files for this. this was really cool overall, nothing wrong or bad about it. some parts were ~too technical~ but it was cool 8/10
deathkenkai - Vospi goodness. it was overall solid, and the type of patterns i'd expect from him. not really my cup of tea though 5/10
Epidermis - HARD WTF/10
evergreen - hey i remember playing this, its still cool now and was cool then, 8/10
Feast for eternity - no
ffff - ffff no
Garyo - this was cool too 6/10
hand throw - i prefer alexdest's version now :'( but its not awful but not that great, 5/10
Heart of Witch - THIS FILE IS REALLY OLD 1/10

and thats all i played of it :'(
