#merrychristmasu

nest accepted from lurker

file acceptance deadline pushed to end of january, for other files

once i get back to a computer, will probably start also updating pack list, and sending out emails to remind for fixes, and cdtitles/metadata that im missing.

also will start working on gfx sets, and will be taking sets from people too

also will start considering if people would like to playtest files - the pack is looking to encompass d5-d6 difficulty in its entirety almost, most difficulty revolving around bursts/jacks

can't review over this weekend because i'm not at my desktop, but really quickly:
neither files i really think capture the essence of the song, and are also pretty innacurate in terms of actual accuracy, and almost objectively, what's being chosen to be accented coupled with overall file difficulty - most likely rejects

Thanks - I still planned to send at least one file, but didn't want to rush one at the last week of December.

apologies to sun0glasses, i'm not sure if i really have it in me to give an indepth thing on trackmaker - the main point was that a lot of the bursts were approximated, and I think in general, the pack is focusing more on following the song more closely? i think i kinda holed the pack in in terms of the focus on bursts that are actually objectively fitting to the song, rather than subjective bursting to sounds that could be argued to be a string of notes over like, holds or something (i'm rambling)

Cinderella Baby is kinda riddled with inconsistencies - hihat felt all over the place, so much of the jump/hand placement felt really unjustified and inconsistent, and the difficulty felt forced

also, going to be looking for gfx, although i'll be making them myself as well
also will send out e-mails to people i'm waiting on submissions for, or missing cd titles from

1 month to go

I managed all the gfx in the previous iteration and I don't mind doing it here either

That being said, I also don't mind any contributions to gfx!

Well gfx I don't suck at (I think). Do you have any links for the songs? I'd rather not guess what they are due to getting the mood horribly wrong.

woke up in the middle of the night to make that post lmfao

update - added links to the op

Oceans of Regret - Actually pretty solid, bar some choices i disagree with in the intro, and some jump/hand usage that jumped out at me immediately. I think the biggest thing about this song is that it's 6 minutes, and it kinda just stagnates - being able to click around in the song and have the file look and sound very similar to other sections is just going to bore players in the end. It'd probably move to accept if like around 2+ minutes could be cut out, and I'd also go in depth with some of the layering things

Alright. I'll see if I can get a good cut out of this after the weekend.

Thanks for judging, it was my attempt on making the file as hard as possible to match the difficulty with the measure long burst parts. Basically, I fixed everything what's not mentioned here.

10.882 - jumps to all the low bass kicks that aren't walled off in 32nd bursts i think accents this section well, up to you.

Will keep it for this difficulty.

18.832 - i can see that the 24ths are to accent the volume of the 32nd run going down, but i think it should be straight 32nds still

Considering it not being that bad of an interpretation I'd like to leave these 24ths in since it makes the 32nd burst stream alot more unique than otherwise.

Will keep it for this difficulty and make this change with easy roll pattern bursts.

37.732 - note (all of these usually are 3 note 16th runs, not just the 2nd and 3rd 16ths, i'll denote these as like *) - these are almost unhearable on lower rates, becauses it's the nature of the mid range hihat in the bg
38.032 - *
38.932 - *
42.532 - *
47.332 - *
47.632 - *
48.532 - *

Damn this makes these parts boring af but sure.

1:26.482 - i think the hand is too much for this section (jump it), same with the rest of the hands in this section, up til like 1:36

The same hi-hats here are in the very beginning and on 1:15.982~ + 1:46.885~. I purposely did heavy layering in all these sections to match the difficulty of the measure long bursts. I can tone this down but for the sake of consistency I will have to tone down those sections aswell [ the jumpstream(1:15.982~) one will be toned down regardless]. I will try a fix with easier patterns+same layering on the harder chart and take away poly rhythm's on a easier one.

1:38.334 - jump
1:38.634 - note
1:39.234 - note
1:41.634 - note
1:42.534 - note
1:43.134 - jump
1:43.434 - note
1:44.034 - note
1:45.834 - note
1:45.984 - jump
1:46.134 - note
1:46.284 - jump

This is following another instrument that I purposely didn't follow but re-looking over the section, it seems interesting and I'll go with following that. I hesitated because it would have ruined the consistency of me following the bass + melody. but I definitely do understand that this instrument is unique and only played pretty much only here so following it would be nice too.
tl;dr - it was purposely not followed but I'll try it out.

I'm going to make a easier difficulty with these notes since I felt it sufficed for one. The heavy jumpstream was my biggest concern and glad you were able to test it out to c if it's gayer than the measure long bursts. Not to mention, the layering doesn't match the intensity of the song atall. Will send a file with both charts but if you don't wanna take the harder one I understand.
