This is odd, I can't hear 14khz on if I play it continuously (ie from 10khz up), but if I jump around I can hear up to 17khz (initial deeeee which quickly goes soft). Meh.

This is also quite dependant on the output capability of your hardware (soundcard, speakers, headphones etc). I know my hearing is better than this but currently I can't hear higher than 16-17khz on this computer.

I can hear up to 16khz clearly. 17-19 sound like humming noises to me. nothing at 20khz. by the way, how's it going, Freak?

Yes, I often hear people talking about how they hear "clicking" when listening to this. It's not clicking they hear, it's the speakers/headphones unable to cope with the high pitch and crackling.

I can hear 22khz with the volume totally cranked, which makes sense apparently.

More noticeable then the "mosquito noise" are the snaps and pops in the recording it seems, lol. Or my speakers suck.

I could hear everything up to 17, 17 and 17.4 I could not hear. 18 and 19 I heard though? 20 I -faintly- heard. everything after 20 I did not hear.

I am 19. Is it strange that I could hear pitches higher than 17 but not 17?

I was able to hear all the way up to 21khz, and while I do feel like there is noticeable sound at 22khz, it doesn't seem distinguishable enough for me to say that I can hear it.

Still pretty good for my age, though.

The snaps and pops are your speakers having difficulty with the high pitches. I guarantee you it is not in the sound itself.

So you're saying you recorded it straight from an oscillator or something for the entire duration of each tone? It sounds an awful lot like distortion I've got when looping a sound because the beginning and end don't match up exactly and there's popping inbetween. Very cyclical...not that that means it's not on my end, just noting it.

I recorded a 2 second clip of it and stretched it out to 30 seconds. However I only copied the middle portions of the clip (making sure to not get the beginning or the end to ensure there would be nothing different). In the sound editor, you could see there were no gaps or variations at all for the entire 30 seconds. I did not modify them in any other way and each clip was put together in exactly the same format.
