Favourite anime genre/and finished animes.
Tell me, all of you animefreaks, what's the best anime genre, which you like the most? I, myself think it's fightning, sports or drama. Which anime is your favorite from that genre? I like Naruto, Bleach, Kenichi, School Rumble, The last airbender, Full metal alchemist, DB/Z/GT, and Hunter X hunter.
( I know, some of you may think that Bleach and Naruto are crap. But remember, that's only your opinion. Of course, these programs are boring then it comes to the fillers. But i like them anyways. ) Would you like that some anime that has been finished, would continue? Last edited by kirjautunut; 08-31-2008 at 06:52 AM.. |

lolnaruto/bleach
And I wouldn't consider Avatar an anime. -_-;; (Unless you're talking about something else I've never heard of. Umm...anyway, it really depends on what I feel like watching, I really liked Lucky Star and Haruhi. I also watch Soul Eater, Elfen Lied, Slayers, etc. :P

I don't really like anime, but I loved Cowboy Bebop. It's unfortunate that it was such a short series.

Re: Favourite anime genre/and finished animes.
Favorite anime genre? Hmm, I'm not really sure. I guess whatever you would call Death Note and Code Geass--"logical thriller" maybe? Though I guess my interest in that isn't really limited to anime...any situation of conflict based on wit, logic, and outsmarting the opponent is pretty interesting to me.
I just realized, although those two anime are from my favorite genre, they're the only two anime shows I started to watch but never finished. Weird. Also slice of life is improbably awesome. You wouldn't think a cartoon about normal people doing normal things could be cool, but Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star have something to say about that. Not the best things I've watched, but somehow, entertaining. For the record, I just watch anime casually. I've only seen a significant amount of maybe ten series, and even then, a good number were short-lived shows. |

Re: Favourite anime genre/and finished animes.
Hmm... Worth mentioning ones:
Action - Fate/Stay Night Comedy - Lucky Star Drama - School Days Horror - Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Kai) Mecha - Mobile Suit Gundam series Romance - 5 Centimeters Per Second Science-Ficition - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu More but they aren't worth mentioning. Haha, I'm amused at the fact that my list resembles Midday's.

Re: Favourite anime genre/and finished animes.
It's not really possible to give you a recommendation based on "genre". All genres have their own good and bad animes. It's about your own personal opinion, whether you like one genre better than another.
Hence, we just state our most favorite anime out of each genre. The only way we can compare genres is by saying: I like horror because it's scary, or I like love stories because they're romantic. Redundancy.

Re: Favourite anime genre/and finished animes.
As much as I love the series like Code Geass, Gundam Seed, Cowboy Bebop (eventhough I agree, it was way too short!) Full Metal Panic, Claymore, Avatar, Naruto, One Piece, Hellsing and tons of others. I do really love the films in the Studio Ghibli collection, i'm a huge Miyazaki fan and have been for a long time. If you want to find the right anime for you, I guess the best thing to do is have a look around on the internet, and try a little from every genre and see which kind you prefer, and then just build on that. That's how I first discovered it, anyway.
