Old member returning
Hey guys,
I don't know if anyone remembers pikakirby123, but this is me starting over after nearly 3 years of no FFR. Needless to say I've lost most of my skill, hence the new account. I hope to regain as much of my old skill ASAP. |

Re: Old member returning
Welcome back.
Though why start a new account just because you've lost some skill? Wouldn't your old scores give you an incentive to get better again, something to aim to beat? |

Re: Old member returning
I think it's easier for me to just start clean so that I feel like I'm making progress, rather than seeing all of my current scores pale in comparison to my old ones.

Re: Old member returning
I started developing signs of carpal tunnel which is part of why I quit. The other half was that school caught up to me and I really had to focus. I have more free time now and stumbled upon some old replays of mine and decided to start playing again. I'll probably be more casual than before but it'll be fun to see how much I can improve again.

Re: Old member returning
well, carpal tunnel is to be expected here & there when you get to divisions 5 & higher. It usually wears off within a week of not playing. Not wearing off is something to get worried up about though.
I've only really seen 1 or 2 people who have played stepmania or FFR that have been put into early retirement from CTS, so it shouldn't really be much of an issue. Just taking a break for a while when the wrist locks up usually does the trick. <3 I wouldn't expect that to change your mind about the game and how much effort you want to put into it though. |

Re: Old member returning
I think that what will keep me hooked again (if anything) is the community, because I remember that's what I liked most in the end about FFR. Even though playing through songs and earning FCs/AAAs and whatnot was fun, it was just so much better when I got to know other people who played FFR.

Re: Old member returning
Yeah, I have to agree with ilikexd. The reason I quit was because I developed RSI and was told if I continued I would end up with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. 7 years later, I still have the symptoms of RSI. The nerves in my wrists are shot to shit. Nothing about my condition has ever 'worn off'.
Aragaki- If you did start developing signs of CTS, I'd give up on ever trying to be as good as you were. Take it from me, just play the odd game for fun. It's not worth risking permanent, long-term damage over getting good again. |

Huh I was reading your name as GapingDragon for the longest time. -I just used my old account when I came back after many years of hiatus. I didn't see a point in making a new one when I had a perfectly good one already.
