Re: Songs of the Week (September 28, 2013)
it's going to take commitment from both sides to tone it down. it's also going to take commitment from middie to learn how to take criticism properly or else this is going to keep repeating indefinitely.
middie -- stop reacting to people bashing you and just do your own thing. you just make it worse every time you respond. |

First off, I apologize if that came off rude. I'm a bit hungover, I usually am kinda brutally honest in giving my thoughts in this state haha.
But regardless, I think everyone will be more surprised if they just gave a bit more once in a while, or even saying sorry. But dropping pride on FFR is hard to do for a lot of people...

Honestly my review for your file wasn't complete glowing praise. I said what I liked and what I didn't. It just so happens that if I like absolutely nothing about a file, I'll say that. That's the point of reviews, sometimes they are bad.

When I wrote my post, I hadn't even played his file. I had only read the first comments, saw some people disliked the 64ths and just typed a bullshit post directed at Middie. I was shocked back when I learned that Middie sometimes posted that kind of comment, the same way I did, without actually even giving the simfile a chance. I don't follow your history too much, Middie, and I know you're becoming better with time, but the fact you did that for so long is just outrageous. It really is. You can just read by yourself your own history; most of time time, the way you express your opinion doesn't come off quite far from my own post in this thread, which is, as you so rightly said it, "horrendous horse shit". The way you're calling out Dossar, the way you're telling everyone that they suck (except for a lucky few), that's just playing with fire. I am an asshole for trolling him like that, and for that, I am sorry. It was only an attempt at making him realize that the way he comments/used to comment/rage on stuff can get on our nerves. Seriously, Middie is a great guy. Deep inside of him, there's a talented, sensible and truly complex person. I love him, and I hope he isn't too mad at me for this stunt. THIS GUY CAN STEP WHEN HE WANTS TOO, at that. There, I said it. He's not a perfect stepper, he still makes beginners' mistakes, but he's better technically than about 60% of the people I reviewed files for. That's something to be proud of. Now, I simply feel bad that people agree on my post. What I really, honestly think after playing the file, is that "it's a generic easy file". The only thing we could blame Middie of doing, except for trying to be stylish with 64ths (and to that I say, nice effort, even though it didn't have a good effect on me), is that his song choice was arguably playing it too safe. That's about as much as I have to write on the subject as a simfile judge. To conclude, sorry for all the fuss. Maybe I should've not done that, maybe I should've played it safer. Maybe this will only get people to hate me without changing a thing in Middie's attitude and our general attitude toward him. I just wanted to put him in the hot seat like he did to so many of us, not for revenge sake since he never did it to me, but to make him see how destructive such harsh statements can be. 'tis all. |

a "generic" easy file is fine, it's not like beginners want to play technically complex stuff when they struggle to be accurate on single notes... feels like people are really missing the point of easy files |

What are you adding to this conversation by saying that? I meant what I said. Besides, it's the rest of the post that really matters.

Hey guys, I uploaded a new version of S.E.B. in B.E.D. -- it should have a bit more of an accurate offset. Thanks for your patience!

Re: Songs of the Week (September 28, 2013)
S.E.B. in B.E.D. is correctly on-sync now, but the music cuts off around 1220 combo or so.
And finally, the Skill Token for PUNK FLUFFY UNICORNS DANCING ON RAINBOWS has been uploaded. |
