Default Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Is anyone going to be getting this game? If so, feel free to add me as I am really excited for this game too. I was very impressed with the trailer as I have played CS on and off for the past 8 years and I have never seen anything quite like this before.

I also played counter-strike since 1.3 until 1.6 and even source. This looks more like source so idk if i would even like playing it. Who knows though, cs 1.6 has been one of the hardest games to follow up on.

I've seen a couple of beta gameplays of CS:GO, and I would have to agree with Nu0n, it does seem quite close to what is available in Source, considering I've played that for the longest time. If you knew your way around the Source files, you could probably get some HD skins for guns and hands, and have the same quality as CS:GO from what I've seen, as long as you're using the right skin for the right gun.

The addition of molotovs threw me off-guard, I never saw those in the gameplays, and if they do plan on adding them like seen in the trailer, I'd be pretty excited with that.

Molotovs are in the new game and I would like to assure both of you that CS:GO is far from a simple "reskinned CS:S". The game feels very different and I think there is a lot to be said. I have had access to the beta for some time now and all in all, I am really enjoying this game. I can only expect a very nice release this Tuesday.

Let me remind you the difference in gameplay from cs 1.6 over to CS:S was extreme and faulty, most CS:S players were just new to the CS scene and didnt bother playing an older 1.6. But the older 1.6 players mostly hated the different feel that Source brought to the table.

Never the less, if what you say is true, and CS:GO is much different than CS:S, id like to give it a try. But I hope they made the aiming and feel more like 1.6 or else its going to be nothing more then another *could have been good, release*.

As a veteran player, I understand your concern. However, people need to realize that nobody wants another 1.6 remake. If you want 1.6, then play 1.6. Looking for 1.6 in CS:GO is silly because the games are a decade apart from each other. All of that aside, I am willing to say that there are major differences in all the CS games and I personally feel that even CS:GO has taken some things from 1.6 and implemented them successfully. As mentioned earlier though, the dynamics in CS:GO are different and I guarantee new strats will be created that will not have originated from 1.6 nor CS:S tactics but from CS:GO tactics. CS is evolving and I respect decisions of players to stay with what they enjoy instead.

Sounds like you are indeed a veteran player, and you seem to understand what I ment by taking out some 1.6 features. Thanks for the response I will be giving this game a try :3. Yes I do understand 1.6 is years apart, I was just mainly worried about the easy kill and easy netcode implemented in CS:S, I enjoyed the difficulty in getting a true headshot apposed to randomly spraying your AK up cat on de_dust2 and whoa look at that a headshot!! XD but yes, it sounds great the idea of new strats. That is something source honestly didnt bring, if anything source limited the strats already in place.

Since PS3's version has support for keyboard and mouse, I might try it out.

Yeah, playing on consoles is probably going to be weird without a mouse and keyboard. CS is nothing like Call Of Duty...lol

I was watching some livestreams earlier. Looks pretty cool. I'm so tired of playing 1.6.

it's going to suck like every other game that tried to replace 1.6

1.6 4 lyfe cal-o pro

having played 1.6 competitively for 9 years, I'll give this a try. Not putting my hopes up though.

holy shit. I'd feel the same way if I played for 9 years.

I never really got into CS. I started playing FPSes when CoD4 released, so i'm not too attached to 1.6.

i played esea-m/im and cevo-m css, and thought that the game was pretty enjoyable. i played the beta for go, and it was honestly a blend of source: lo graphics and 1.6 gameplay / shooting pattern rationale.

overall it's worth a couple of hours of play, but no competitive player is really going to make the switch from 1.6 or source after they realize it's dumb

prereqs:

Sorry to hear that. It would have been nice to see a CS game actually succeed on consoles.

dropping fps is probably a basic engine problem that will be updated shortly

input lag is probably from wireless things lol -- controller, internet, etc
input lag would not come from wired controller/mice/etc

input lag could also be from servers

if you can, console -> net_graph 2 check yo colors see how your connection actually is in correspondence to others and the server
