Cool "Gift Credits" BUTTON!

We all want this button on everybody's profile.

-easier to use
-no risk of lose
-make sure you have the right person.
-you dont need to go in game to send creds
-you dont need to go find the ffr shop to send creds

just go the the said persons profile and BAM your done.

Your Welcome.

p.s. (gifts for the Christmas season... see what i did...)

What about my welcome?

I can see this being a good idea.

I can also see some people wanting to opt out of having this button on their profile.

Finally, I can see large amounts of data flooding the database from people spam clicking that button.

Oh, and a final note, the value of credits are slowly fading away as people accumulate massive amounts they couldn't possibly spend outside of unofficial tournament means. I'm not sure how big of a loss we're talking about, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Why should we add more clutter to profiles? All that's going to accomplish is unneeded complications with code and theme maintenance.

Pointless when there's already an existing way of sending credits outside of the game. Just don't spell their name incorrectly and verify via the Credit Transaction page (Vet only).

Even if you do spell their name incorrectly, there's now an exception for it -- if the user doesn't exist, it just says that a person needs to have a grandtotal above 0. If the user doesn't exist, then their grandtotal is null and isn't above 0.

So yeah, there's really no reason to have this.

It's not that pointless, however it is a really small thing to worry about. It's a good idea, I could see if it did happen it would be a small button about the size of a friend request one that might redirect to a credit transfer page or even back to the FFR Shop with said name of the person you're transferring to because mistakes could still happen, there can be a lot of usernames that are fairly similar take for ex: mine "Sweet Angel" you could easily forget the space and the creds could be sent to someone different. Like "SweetAngel" I just tried, sent a cred and it transferred to someone with a 9 year old account. Or even so, there could be a pop-up in the transfer shop saying "Are you sure you would like to go through with this transaction?" Not that big of a deal but its an idea

It would be nice to have some sort of confirmation that the person you are sending the credits to is in fact the right person. It is possible to misspell names and still accidentally give credits away you didn't mean to, so it would be nice if there was a test link or something that came up when you put in a name to ensure it links to the profile you want to send the credits to.

Although whenever I want to send credits, I just copy and paste the name off their profile and put it in the FFR Shop box.

So much hate I think this would be pretty cool even if it just became a side project and wouldn't be done for awhile

Indeed, it is a good idea.
Simpler, faster and it makes more sense to go the the profile instead of doing it by the FFR Shop.

Maybe add a button next to Add as a friend/Block user.
(also, why there is no button to send a Private message there ?)

to further explain my idea after reading the "haters" and the "lovers" and that one guy with no name. lol

The bar above your profile.
( Search Profiles, My Settings, Photos, Forum, (your)'s Level stats, (your)'s Forum, Your Profile, Show Style Editer )

you could just put it below the " PM " selection. Where it would take you to the on site FFR Shop. HERE

with the person's name pre-set inside the bar.

I mean i know about all the ways you can already do this. People have problems with this way some people dont. It just seems like an old boxy way to do it. I just thought we should slowly update some things to be more smooth. Its small and somewhat not useful but it would be a lot more confusion friendly for "new" players. plus a time saver and copy paste free way to do this.

Also, to clarify what I stated earlier, adding this feature to user profiles would put more strain on those coding and theme editing profiles. Sure, this a cool idea. But, think about this for a second, what if every cool idea was added to user profiles? How would you possibly find anything in that clutter?

Notice that the newer profiles (Velo's) put sections of the profile on their own pages, you could consider those as being tabs. There was so much information, in order to organize it all, everything had to be placed in tabs. Do you really want a maze of a profile? I personally do not.

This feature gives us the ability to do something we already can do in multiple locations on the site. Further more, it deals with the sending of credits. Once again, credits have diminishing value, and I'm sure any mistakes would be easily fixed via contacting FFR's staff. In my eyes, this appears similar to features on many social networks that allow you to show-off 'stickers' or 'pins'. It's mainly eye-candy, with very little purpose. "Oh, I coooould send this person some credits. But whatever, next profile."

I was just curious to see why people feel this is important enough to add to user profiles. I honestly believe this feature should be kept within the FFR Shop. If anything about sending credits were to be improved, it should be features within the shop.

A suggestion like this will soon lead to requests for adding FFR Challenge buttons, and others that are similar.

I don't see how that doesn't make sense, I feel like most of what I'm reading is just saying how much of a bad idea this is when it really isn't a bad idea. Even if something isn't doable that doesn't necessarily mean a bad idea (because of code or priorities or whatever), it can always be returned to at a later time for just a little something extra to make credit transfers easier (and yes I know they're pretty damn easy as it is).

Edit: alright so I re-read and I guess there's not THAT much, but the hate I do see seems to be pretty hateful (with the least offense meant possible to said users of course)

Since when does disagreement take the place of hate?

perhaps you can add a message or image to "gifting" credits resulting in a notification or an accept interface. transferring credits is just bam. done. that's it. it is getting to christmas, too

other than that, I think the coders on the site have better things to do than this.

Actually what I think would be more interesting would be if there was an official weekly credits giveaway (Perhaps some random amount, say from 500 to 3000 is chosen, in increments of 100), and everyone who played at least one game that week is eligible and the site randomly selects the amount and the winner.

Requiring at least one play for the week would increase the odds the winnings went to more active players and not dead accounts as well.

Alternately, it could be a once-a-month type deal to make it more of a big deal, and the prize credits are increased (say, from 10,000 to 90,000 in increments of 10,000) and there could be a thread where the winners are announced.
