2 Questions.
1. To everyone - Who got permission from Venetian Snares to allow his/her songs on FFR?
2. To the unknown person mentioned above - Did Vsnares deny permission to use full songs of his/hers? The real Hajnal is about 7:42, not 3:33, and Szamar Madar is I think 5:47. Whats up with that? The full versions are better.

Re: 2 Questions.
Two possibilities I assume.
1. Songs, such as the near 8 minute one, are probably too long to step. 2. Maybe the step artists don't find it necessary to step the WHOLE song. It's possible that the step artists think that only stepping a certain portion of the song would make it better. Last edited by reptile3141; 04-23-2008 at 07:09 PM.. |

Re: 2 Questions.
Half of FFR already hate long songs. (I personally love them.) They already complain about 4 minutes. Therefore, cut.
I never heard of Venetian Snares outside FFR, so I wouldn't know, but maybe it was too repetitive stepfile wise?

You can step long songs of course, so you can't say they're "too long to step". I have no idea who originally received permission from Venetian Snares, but it's possible you could look through the Blanket Permissions or search the forums to find someone proclaiming they received said permission. EDIT: Did some searching. This answers the opening post's first question. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...&postcount=239 P.S. Venetian Snares is male, so you can say "his songs on FFR". Re: 2 Questions.
I wouldn't mind some longer Challenging+ songs. Forget anything else 4 minutes or later under challenging.

Re: 2 Questions.
don't hold your breathe on long, fairly repetitive songs. we won't allow them and will force a cut. it's a rare instance (blue army) when we specifically want the full version and not a cut.

Re: 2 Questions.
no. shash just had a hard-on for wanting the full version only. wasn't until after shash quit the site that we accepted a version of it, but i kept his wish.

Truly respectable ;D... so I guess there really won't be anymore long songs unless if another veteran leaves a dying message...

Re: 2 Questions.
it all depends on the song. if you have a 10 minute long song that isn't repetitive and is fun to play all the way though, i have no problem adding it.
like TMWT.

Re: 2 Questions.
i like long files you dont have to combo it all if your not good enough
on a long file you get more spaces to build a big combo even if you mess it up at several points also your playing more on pa so i like it and blue army especially i would love to see full versions even if they take longer to create they would be more epic i think any good piece of music can be a good stepfile if there are breaks in the music just enjoy yourself rest your fingers and wait for the action +1 full version support |

Re: 2 Questions.
Generally on FFR most long songs are cut to no more than 4 minutes except a select few. The limit seems to have been set to 5-6 min now but most songs still range in the 2-3 min range unless its a good file in its entirety they might allow the full version. That's just my theory.

Re: 2 Questions.
My only issue is that I can already tell that if you allow explicitly much longer songs, what you'll get are FMOs and FGOs as 3:00 songs, being pulled out to 6:00, 7:00.
And while I'm all for giving the expert folk lots to do at the top end, We do need to keep an eye on our middle difficulties. I just have the idea in my head that songs over 5 or 6 minutes that even as 5-6 minute songs would only be 5/12-7/12, that they'd be denied as "To boring and repetitive for how long it is" |
