Re: fitness subforum
yeah, but here's the thing: I'd prefer those staff not have actual staff power over this website, and their preference doesn't supersede mine in that I'm allowed to have this preference, and they're allowed to have theirs.
in other words: it isn't against the rules to think a staff should not be staff. and I do, frequently. if "you should not be staff" is too 'disrespectful' then you've created a situation where a staff can literally never be displaced because the mere discussion of their unsuitable status is against the rules. if you don't want me to post here, here is something you should have considered already: I don't want you to post here either. you cannot simply claim that you're more entitled to preference over who posts here because of some arbitrary reason. I am forced to deal with you, and vice versa. therefore, no one is entitled to say who can post on the issue of mere preference. you're going to have to deal with people you don't like posting shit you don't like. which I am. in the mean time, posting here consistently draws attention to the fact that the staff have not created a fitness forum yet. any objection that would be made to me responding along the lines of "by doing this you lessen the chances" implies that the staff are petty enough to deny userbase a forum they want to spite one user. this is quite effective, and I'm going to keep doing it. |

Re: fitness subforum
I believe the current front running concept is to create a fitness subforum and specifically bar you from posting in it. This is not actually the front running concept.

Re: fitness subforum
it achieves the purpose of why I posted here and demonstrates precisely how petty and unqualified those in support of that arrangement are by virtue of this, so as far as I'm concerned that's a good deal

Re: fitness subforum
What about "Sports and Fitness" or something of the like?

Re: fitness subforum
sports are too distinct from fitness; you'd have to have sports in one category and fitness in another.
for example, a fitness board would discuss: - strength training - cardiovascular training - nutrition a sports board would discuss: - specific players and teams - predictions about who will win and why - analyses of games |

Re: fitness subforum
Zageron: Even though they're both "physical" subjects on some fundamental level, fitness and sports (in terms of the underlying discussion topics) are relatively disjoint. In sports you talk about official teams and playoffs and game analyses and such, whereas in fitness the subjects tend to relate to the stuff I listed here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...8&postcount=11
edit: Ninja'd by Arch, but the argument remains the same. Also, fusing the two subjects makes it harder to invoke the failsafe strategy (i.e. just deleting the forum) if it turns out to be a bad idea. Now you can't remove one without removing the other (unless one is willing to do a lot of tedious work). Last edited by Reincarnate; 06-10-2014 at 09:19 PM.. |

Re: fitness subforum
All posts are moderated at the moment. Marcus dropped into mod position until he doesn't want to be it or we figure something else out.
Input appreciated.

Re: fitness subforum
Reincarnate / SCWolf are ideal moderators -- especially SCWolf
Reach certainly knows enough, but his schedule is far too busy. this may also be the case for reincarnate, actually, though I'm not sure. essentially, SCWolf is my top choice here, and I don't think you will find anyone disagreeing with this unless it's to spite me. |

Re: fitness subforum
I am fine with having modship -- but I agree, definitely SCWolf. Reach, too, if he so desires.

Re: fitness subforum
Not sure why there's a need to make every post be moderated though. Surely between Rubix, SCWolf and all the site supermods, anything that isn't fitness can be easily moved.

Even if they don't allow me mod status, I hope they ease up on the thread restrictions. Currently waiting on a diet thread to be approved.
