Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
I've been playing the other division songs for fun and to see how difficult each division is, Snowblind just became my highest FC by far and it pushed me directly from level 25 to 27. Feeling really lucky that the tournament started before I crossed that threshold, I would have been near the bottom of the pack in the first two D2 rounds.

Our D3 song feels easier than last round, may go for the AAA this time :3

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
Tageri's hella mean. Lemme break down every wack part bit by bit.
This one's a me problem but when the first breakcore section happens about 250 notes in: when there's the eighth notes then some sorta BPM shift back to red/blue/yellow notes. I wanna go faster going back to the yellow notes but it just is not faster at all. ALL the framey "rolls" with the jumptrills. 310 notes in, 870-ish notes in, 1000 notes in, 1070 notes in, 1200 notes in. That subtle orange note 640 notes in. That gets me on occasion. That 1 2 3 4 [123] about 720 notes in, super fast, super awkward. That jack 1120 notes into it. AND THEN THE BIG BOY. 1160 notes in. right hand-heavy split-trilly jumpstream, leading into a super awkward roll, capped off with a very awkward to control 3 4 - 4 3 - 3 2 - 2 1 into a bit of a break. Then the subtle [13]4 [14], where the 4 is pretty much a flam off of the [13]. It's just far apart where you can't reliably hit it as a flam, and just close enough to the [14] to cause a slight minijack. Everything from there's relatively manageable, but it's the first 1400 notes or so that are BRUTAL. But, don't forget that very last [34] [12] [34][12] where the last [12] is, yet again, another flam. It almost makes a quad but, once again, is just far enough apart to where it's not advisable to hit it as a quad. This is 1930 notes in, just about 15-20 notes before the very ending, and has caused me to get a few goods here and there. The choice is super good for round 3 but it's super brutal considering the length and just how many small little things there are in the chart that add up as it goes along. |

Gonna call it right here and say I'm the worst D6er left. No sense in grinding if beating 3 people isn't gonna happen. gg gods.

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
Now combine it with playing the hard section at 0.8x speed or slower until you learn the taps and can AAA it, move up to 0.9x and 1x and you're ready to nail the whole song.
Between iso, rate changes, and the offset finding tools I've gone from level 30 to level 50 in the ~three weeks since I started playing again (after a million years hiatus). Starting to find that my biggest blocker is this stiff old keyboard.

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
I would say you should still play Tageri, but maybe just take a more casual approach to it. No one ever likes feeling like the bottom of the pack but at some point we're all the fresh meat of D6. You'll make the improvements ^_^

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
Snowblind comparatively *feels* easier perhaps because of all those key smashing in the last round.

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
I never realized my old keyboard was holding me back so much! The new short stroke mechanical keyboard came in yesterday, and now electrical parade is my best AAA and I've gone up 5 levels in 24 hours.

Re: Stuck at Home Tournament
Going back and playing songs to warm up, the early 70's houses a lot more difficult stuff and a lotta potential fun songs on rates than I ever thought. Euphoric Field's a real good example of "low" (for me) difficulty number yet still a lot to practice in it and it's super super difficult despite its number. It's a 70 flat but has a buncha real awkward mini one-handed stuff, as well as a killer burst in the beginning that practices control.
