Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
She's a fun character to use.
I don't remember why I picked her to main.

hmm... maybe I should look at the other characters. Or just try to use her better. I'll think about it.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
lmao I remember when I first started playing I picked Alice, but I failed at using her (and I still do). I don't even remember how exactly I chose Yuyuko as my main, lol. I just randomly starting picking her a lot when I was selecting characters and eventually learned combos and the like. I can't play with any other character besides Yuyu =/
Yukari will take some time to get used to Quote:

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
I started using Youmu because she seemed easier to handle than the other characters. I've been trying Remilia and Alice, but they're damn hard to learn (which is what makes it fun).
Youmu's 623B is easily punished if it's blocked. Even in a combo it can be dangerous if you slip up on the input. I use to mash this attack out a lot, until I realized I had better options. 623A can be useful from what I've seen, but it's also quite punishable if it's blocked. I've made a real bad habit of using 214A too much. Especially 214A 214A 214A, I seem to spam that all the time. Ugh. KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO ME XIAO. |

Same here, except it's on SWR, and my keyboard fails and it becomes a C.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
might join in later, but regarding pofv netplay..
skimmed the thread, didn't see adonis mentioned anywhere and seeing as how default pofv netplay is.. well, pretty poor i figured i may as well try and help by posting it http://www.mediafire.com/?kmst77kfvnm it's basically a caster for pofv, it unlocks everybody (yes, even lunasa and merlin) when you use it so you don't have to have the same characters unlocked as your partner.. still have to be patched up to the netplay version though. but yeah chuck the contents of the zip (well, the files in the adonis folder) into your main pofv directory. when you fire it up you'll be met by a ton of gibberish (well those of us who don't use japanese configured computers will) and you'll see "s:server c:client w:watch" if you're the host, you want s. you'll get gibberish "default=10800", this is the port being used. it's UDP if you want to do the funky port forwarding stuff. hit enter again and you'll be waiting for somebody to connect. if you're connecting, you'll want to use c for client. the first thing is gibberish "default:210.9.8.3" , this is where the IP you'll want goes. then you'll get gibberish "default=7500", this is port. after that you try connecting. watch is basically the same as connect, only you're pressing w. like the iamp caster, it will have a faster framerate while trying to catch up to where they are in the match, so enjoy watching hyperspeed pofv while catching up to them. after connecting is done the host chooses their side and deals with lag. and if all goes well then it'll open up for both of you and you'll be ready to chuck bullets at each other to your hearts' content. one more thing: both people have to have controls set to "Full" in options for this to work and you actually be able to get through menus/play etc aaaanyway like i said, skimmed the thread, didn't see this, so if it's been posted them i'm sorry for wasting your time. if it hasn't then.. smoother pofv netplay, woo. What. Is this caster info on PoFV web? Or is it completely unofficial/unknown?

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
well, in SF games, 623 is more important since it's more reward than risk.
And, yeah you used that link like 50% of the time against me, it was a little annoying. I'm going to try to learn Patchouli. She looks complicated. Edit: I learned one Patchouli corner trap so far (but never tried to implement it though).

214A spam isn't all that punishable; granted, you'll take damage for it, but the frame disadvantage is lowered by the fact that blocked 214A deals ridiculous amounts of pushback.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
I'm not too worried about being punished if it's blocked. Usually I have enough time to IABD or block afterwards, but the main problem is I never hit confirm and get slapped hard in the face during startup.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
An IABD doesn't cover the same distance as an IAD. You might end up having to airblock, and with blockstrings in midair, you're more than likely to get crushed.
2A 6A 5B 6B Learn to confirm with those, because they're the starter to all of Youmu's ground bnbs.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
An IAD after a blocked 214A is going to jump straight into the opponent when they have the advantage isn't it? I think I'm better off blocking then.
IaMP is starting to get on my nerves. I've played for three hours straight and still can't land a hit with 5A, 5B, 2A, 2B, 6A, or 6B (particularly against Remilia) even with the cover of projectiles. And when I do manage to, I fudge my combo. The only time I pull them off is when my opponent wakes up and isn't paying attention, which won't work at all on good players. Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
I guess it's unknown, since a friend of mine randomly found it one day, and he's shared it with people. All I know is that it works much much better than the default netplay for pofv, which i never managed to get working.. and managed to get this one working a few minutes after playing around with figuring out what menu choice did what.

In other news: I tried playing IaMP again. I officially suck at it even more. I lost my combo touch, in fact, I can't even pull off 99% of my combos now for any character. I'm going to practice now.

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
Edited ddr_f4n's post to show my current situation.
I tried playing Touhou/Music Game again. I officially suck at it even more. I lost my combo touch, in fact, I can't even pull off 99% of my combos now for any character/song. And I can't practice til September. And I'm up against the best SWR player I know as of yet. I'm going to video tape me vs Saga on August 21st, so expect a vid =)

Re: Touhou Online for the FFR Community II
I didn't get to post earlier - Anok, did I irk you while we were playing? Around the time I just started j.A spamming the entire match, then when you switched to Raymoo.
