Even if you are only using one set at a time.
One key -> one input, one input -> one key. Always been the rule.

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
Well if that's what FFR's come to, blacklist me cause all of my scores have been gotten with asdf when I play with as86 in reality.

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
If you're playing strictly as86 for some songs and asdf for others, yeah that's obviously perfectly fine. I was kinda confused by what you meant in your post, I thought you were suggesting for Halogen to play as86 for the majority of the song but then switch to a28f for the [14]...2323[14]... jumpjack section, with the left hand on af and the right hand on 28.
edit: 'So if you can manage the transition between the areas...' lol nvm, that's definitely DS :/ You have to stick with the same four keys for the entire song Last edited by One Winged Angel; 12-29-2011 at 08:29 PM.. |

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
Okay, for one second let's ignore my previous post and comment on this totally separately:
Is it totally unacceptable to switch your finger positions on the keys while you play to hit a pattern easier? Say there is a [14] jack, and I'm having horrible splitting problems, is it awful for me to re-position my fingers so it's a 1 handed jack just for that jack? No change in keys, just finger placement for which finger hits what key?

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
As long as you're using only four key inputs to play the file, anything is legal
Then again, I don't think current ~*~FFR CheAT DeTecTiON teCHnoLoGY~*~ can determine whether or not you're using more than four keys to play the file lol *cough* Crowdpleaser *cough* Last edited by One Winged Angel; 12-29-2011 at 08:32 PM.. |

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
What I did for Revolutionary Etude was m,./ which allowed me to use the index and middle fingers on my right hand to do a one handed trill in the jackass-anchor that prevented me from AAAing. The jumpjacks in Husigi wouldn't be that bad if there wasn't that 32nd spin transition and the 3232 minitrill in between

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
The spin transition isn't an issue because I'll transition from that strange setup to a normal setup after the 6 L/R jumps. I can take on the 4 L/R jumps + spin with a pretty high success rate. It's the first part that's giving me issues.
If I nail that jack, I'll probably AAA the song, or at least 0-0-0-x it. EDIT: see explanation below Last edited by TC_Halogen; 12-29-2011 at 08:46 PM.. |

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
The setup I mentioned was P [ ] \ for the song.
I'll be playing a normal spread up until the L/R 16th jumps, from which I'll move my right index finger from ] to P, and then my right middle finger will stay on \, which will make the L/R jump jacks a one-handed right hand jack. Then I'll index the U/D trill (as I normally would be anyway), and proceed with a normal spread that way. |

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
that's what i meant by setup. he usually plays 3 fingers on right, and on on left, but he changes his playing style, sorry if that was worded badly on my part

Re: 6th Official FFR Tournament - Round 7 has started!
I've been using sdef/2468 for years now to easily do both spread and harder, indexable patterns.
If that's cheating then holy ****ing shit why am I still here... *_* |
