Hmm... ask around to see if someone's set up a proxy at your school (or set one up if there isn't one) to go around the blocks. If they have, get the info and put Firefox on your flash drive (yeh, it sucks for FFR). Get the .xpi flash download and put it on Firefox. Reset your proxy server settings (Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings) and it should be around the blocks. Get the no-install version of FFR Keymap, and use that for mapping.

No, I haven't been getting on FFR in school. XD Of course, all school blocks are different, so this may or may not work.

What I use since the flash in my school isn't and will never be updated, I use Firefox Portable to play FFR on a PC. Gotta love plug-ins and stuff. With the plug-in and keymapping all in my flash drive, it's all good. =) It even lets you erase the cache and History once you close the program, very useful for pervs looking at pornography.

Oh, and I figured out the password for our Netsweeper filter, mhm, so I can go to any site I want on the internet. Even Myspace. =/

Our school blocks all proxys and games sites about 5 days after they're not blocked... Websense >.<

But I'm planning to use a proxy that someone claims to have on their flash drive... Either that, or I'll just go get firefox for a flash drive.

At my school, a lot of people use firefox + http proxies, but a lot of people have been getting their computer accounts disabled for doing it, so I've tried to avoid it. Although, recently I've found the IE connection setup wizard, and can input http proxies through it and get around the blocks, but the settings only change for the current session.

At my school all proxy avoidance websites are blocked. There was a few you could get oone but they were blocked, even the mirrors. Everyone make sure to delete their cookies so they won't find out.
BTW- Only way to get around my school's security blocks is logging on as an administrator, and so far somoene's only been able to on one computer...

What are the rules, and how do people get caught?

Well Personally I'd recommend people just run something like Portable firefox on a USB stick so you can keep your cookies and favourites and such on it; things are then secure and confidential.

When it comes to security, it's likely that there's more to it than just logging on as computer administrator (unless you mean network administrator, but that's virtually impossible). In fact in many places, including where I go, it's really easy to log on as local administrator. The thing is there's programs which are running which can't be modified even as the administrator, such as deepfreeze. Web filters (at least good ones) don't run on the local machine, so having local admin rights isn't helpful.

Try that site, I haven't looked it over, but some of the stuff on there may be useful

EDIT: http://www.peacefire.org/circumvento...tructions.html
There's a direct link to the info for setting up your home computer as a circumventor for access at school.

The rules aren't exactly strict, but I know that they don't tolerate people getting on myspace. Usually people either get caught by the tech. people walking around or through key loggers they supposedly have set up.

ITT: no pity from meno

My school doesn't even have a firewall and has no blocked sites, except addictinggames.com.
yep I can see it now.......
"what website should we block? 4chan or addictinggames?"
"porn or internet games?"
"internet games"
"don't forget to leave everything else unblocked"

the only thing we can't do is install, but I have ways around that =D

I'm lucky. Just about nobody plays at my school so they don't have it blocked.

For those of you who wants mysapce etc...

https://kproxy.com

The https IS needed, for secure connection. Most filters don't block that, if any. Not sure, but it only works on certain things.
