Personally, we can say something like, "This part of the song is charted wrong." However, we can't just dismiss a simfile with a bad rating because the stepartist did not chart this part of the song the way you expected it to be charted. It's more on looking at the stepartist's intentions on why they charted this part of the song the way they did. Simfile judges follow certain rules for simfiling. It's a basis on what we can look at what is considered objective at a community standpoint such as pitch relevancy, layering choices, accenting, flow of patterns, etc.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
can you guys just start judging in chunks of 10 every 2 days
because hard batch took a month anyways, so if you guys do 10 every 2 days, you could finish 120 in 24 days which is acceptable |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
That's an amazing number when considering the fact the hard songs batch took 5 weeks to get notes in for 46 files

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
5 files a day doesn't seem that hard
if somebody's got time to shit they got time to judge |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Since there seems to be a shortage of judges why not ask some people who have made several good files to judge and see if they can do a good job instead of waiting for people to say they can judge?
It just seems like there would be a full team much faster that way. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
the current state of charting for FFR is to prefer technically accurate charts to ones that have what you are referring to as "ghost" notes (steps). my perception is that players would would rather choose to play a song that makes them feel like they are following the music rather than playing something that is seemingly random.
entirely dependent on context. if it's really energetic music, it might. if it's more technical in nature, it won't. either way, i still dislike ghost notes and would rather see a carefully crafted chart than a 16th stream through the entire file that looks like somebody just threw a bunch of arrows at their monitor to see where they stick. this isn't entirely true. a good judge can analyze a specific section in reference to other parts of the stepchart and devise a rational explanation as to why something was charted the way it is. Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
i'm guessing you're looking at legacy/older files? you'll be hard pressed to find ghost notes in the newer files.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
I was kinda thinking since it takes so long for the batch to be full at 120 why not make it --/50 and do it once a month, until there are more judges to help with the batch, because as of right now it takes a really long time, which is kind of annoying for people who really want feedback on their stepfiles.. See right now, I've improved significantly in both my level of play and my feeling of making stepcharts. Yet, im still waiting for one of my first stepcharts to be judged.. which is kind of redundant, because I by now already know what's wrong and right about my earlier submissions, but I don't have any chance to change it anymore.. This could be fixed by just having a smaller batch each month.

^ That's assuming there are enough judges, which there are not.
I agree the workload should be less on judges, but there are other factors to consider.

I have enough free time on my hands that I'd be willing to put forth the time and effort to judge if people saw me fit to. ~ (if the primary problem is still lacking judges)
