Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
Hopefully the batch will be open long enough for me to finish and send one more file. It seems to be going well and I really hope to finish it in timeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
Because they aren't done yet
I promis I will send them when I get time to do them right. I don't want to release files that aren't the best they could be. I found some finished files to send at least: Beginning of War (S.S.H.) - short novelty file, likely gonna be rejected for length even though it's a cool file Bowser the Shredder (GS-Screamer) - file from 2008, still surprisingly fun C-Jam Blues (Shnabubula) - this game needs more classic jazz, all hail the Duke Ellington DATA DRAIN (DJ Sharpnel) - I remember this had kinda gay patterns at the end that I was maybe going to fix but oh well, yolo Rising Blue Lightning (S.S.H.) - y'all be hatin' on my SSH files but fuck the police this file is fun as hell Honestly not my best showing but it's some fun files, maybe they will get in maybe they won't. All my ~good artfiles~ are either not on my laptop or like 90% finished and I don't have time to finalize them. Kinda fuccen amazing. Since my great grandfather had 4 wives (simultaneously mind you), I have nearly 30 great aunts and uncles. Most of them are in Hong Kong for #7's birthday. My extended family is HUGE, so big that most people just go by number instead of name. Since my grandmother is #3, I introduce myself as "#3's second grandson" instead of by name haha It's been a lot of fun to meet all the people who I have only heard of in stories (although some of them are kinda crazy, there's been some made-for-TV-level drama with some old family feuds coming to surface lol) Overall the company is fun and the food is amazing. Since we keep going to fancy restaurants, there's a lot of expensive stuff like abalone and shark's fin soup. I also order the "char siu" pork at any opportunity I have, it's downright amazing...

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
^ l0l i'm prob. gonna step xkore if anything at all for this batch #original #newgrounds #hashtags
ps its easy to step, most people have a variety of songs from those artists listed above or know where to find them and usually the files are received well. i'd personally be ALL for another unstepped artist batch. Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 05-2-2013 at 10:18 AM.. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
I'd be all over this shit especially if there was also a "no BMS of Fighters/Bemani artist" rule. Bemani songs all have the same style and it annoys me greatly :/
The only reason I'm sending more Sharpnel and SSH this batch is because that's all I have lying around. Believe me I'd send more interesting stuff if I had it finished on my laptop haha (I really really want to send my Colony 5 file but it's at home fuuuuuuuuu)

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
If possible I'll set down and step a Shnabubula epic sometime. Love that man and his works. (not necessarily an artist that hasnt been stepped, but I feel has been under-appreciated in his works, for a long time now.)

Truth be told, I had no idea we had permission from them. I know its perhaps in the blanket permissions thread, but I mean I guess from what I have seen it's just not known that well? Not sure if i'm alone here ~ But I kinda wish I would have stepped some of these other guys now.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
Oh yeah, I might as well ask this since I'm kind of unsure.
When the limit is reached, the batch doesn't close, right? Just that the files after the 125 limit will be judged at a much later time? |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
That is correct. The judges will review the 120 files already received, so any that are submitted after that must wait. That means though you CAN still submit files at any time then.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
So in that case, lets say 12 files are overflow and go into the next batch. Does that mean the initial start of the next batch will be -12? So instead of 120 for the next one only 108 will be accepted?

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
There won't be such a thing as overflow because any files past the first 120 we receive will be in standing for the next batch of files to be reviewed at a later date.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
Alright, sweet. Thanks for clarifying.
I'm also assuming that the way judging is handled is not any different from before. With that being there's a deadline for them to have ratings done and so forth. Or is that different too I wonder? |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch is OPEN)
For now, the time for judging remains the same. It's usually about a week to pack everything up to send to the judges, and three weeks for the judges to review. In the future, we're hoping to speed the process up a bit (most judges actually review within a week but do so at the very end of their deadline) but at the same time we don't want to burn out the judges.
