Dang. How far are you? Maybe you could convince your parents or a friend to drop you off.

Re: FFR Community Pack Spring 2012 (Submissions Open)
Oh, damn that's a good 5 hour drive. No wonder you can't make it - oh well, better luck next time, huh? The guys I'm meeting up with all live pretty close, so the next meetup probably won't be like 6 months away or anything. Look forward to seeing you then.

Submissions are closed
Anything sent to me after the time of this post I'm not bothering to look at, with the exception of last minute file fixes.

Re: FFR Community Pack Spring 2012 (Submissions Open)
Awesome. When do you expect the pack to have a public release? I assume within a day or two, since only one file needs a set of graphics?

Re: FFR Community Pack Spring 2012 (Submissions Open)
I need to do a final judging batch, then sort out what files need GFX as well as re-rate the new files with NPS scaling. If all goes as planned, this pack will be out on the weekend. If not, early next week.

Re: FFR Community Pack Spring 2012 (Submissions Open)
Chousai Kenbo Sengen V2 (Ziergdsx18)
There is BARELY any difference in difficulty gap between the charts; this was one really ****ing half assed easy difficulty. At this point, I don't give a shit so you're good to go. Yes Tengu's Playful Mind V2 (Gpop) Good to go. Yes Remain V2 (leonid) Good to go. Yes Coward Killing Time V2 (LegendaryHawk) Good to go. Yes Main Menu (plopadop) Yes To Punish The Weak (Torrent) There is BARELY any difference in difficulty gap between the charts; this was one really ****ing half assed easy difficulty. At this point, I don't give a shit so you're good to go. Yes Sacrament of Wilderness (C1004A) Medium Not simplified and easy enough. Simplify, simplify, simplify. No Expert At this point. we have enough hard scoring marathon files in the pack. I might move this over to the FFRCP Summer file submissions but you should resend it regardless when the time comes because your easier difficulty is not acceptable as it is now. No Wizards in Winter (C1004A) Beginner Not simplified and easy enough. Simplify, simplify, simplify. No Hard Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much quad abuse in this chart. At this point. we have enough hard scoring marathon files in the pack. I might move this over to the FFRCP Summer file submissions but you should resend it regardless when the time comes because your easier difficulty is not acceptable as it is now and this difficulty is way too overdone in terns of hand usage. No Check My Soul (xanox) Easier difficulties Acceptable but Hard chart should be reworked. Hard - Missing piano chord placements in the beginning measures and thoroughout the chart. It'd feel way better to layer them in accordingly since it's a very prominent instrument and it adds a new layer to play with. - Holds are long in length. Trim them down to avoid awkward pattern transitioning, especially at the end of the holds. It also reduce visual density. - Percussion isn't layered thoroughly enough. Missing jump placements to follow percussion consistently to keep the file flowing well. You layer it or you don't—it's difficult to find a middleground, especially with songs with prominent percussion like this. - Beat 90, you're missing a 16th note to lead into the [14] jump. Basically, the 16th [2][3] trill you layered to percussion ends off too early, which deals a blow to the file flow. - Beats 91 and 95, I'm not quite sure I understand the point of your double holds. They don't emphasize anything in particular. If it's emphasizing either the vocals or percussion, it's way overdone. Be much more subtle with it. Same goes to later on in the chart when you rinse and repeat it. - M27+ (Beat 104+) the "YAYs" would be better represented better if you layered them as jumps or even hands as opposed to a single note+long hold. It gives it a much better punch to it. - Beat 222, add a 4th note. Percussion ends here, not on the 16th [3] above. - I liked the experimentation with the freeze usage. It gives the chart a nice touch. - Overall, it's not too bad. The layering could use tweaking for the above notes to make it much more structurally relevant and interesting to accommodate the song. No Magda (xanox) - A lot of 16ths hihat sounds are inaccurately layered, but it's acceptable to some degree since you've broken it up into triplets. - There's a lot of one hand bias once you start layering in those 32nd triplets. Consider shifting patterns around to be more two handed friendly. - Bass should've been thoroughly layered as jumps on all the 4th notes. It feels much more solid to play when you do. - Overall, this is probably your most solid submission. Lacking an easier chart however but I'll let it slide. Yes The First The Last (xanox) Expert - Holds can be trimmed in length to reduce visual density and awkward holdstreaming patterns. Holds -do not- have to be as long as the sound they layer. As long as a hold is there, any player can distinguish on a first playthrough what it goes to. - Thoroughly layering either the bass or synths as jumps would be an excellent addition and adds layering variation and interest. - Overall, it's alright. At this point, I don't count edit/harder difficulties as a 2nd chart so this needs easier charts. If you wish, I might move this over to the FFRCP Summer submissions and you can send me easier charts later. Since it's the end of the pack however, my final answer is: No Rhapsody of the Scarlet Moon (Don) Yes Final file queue size: 72 files. Holy **** this pack is even larger than Summer 2011. All that's left is NPS scale rating and remaining 4 sets of GFX.
