lol everyone's repeating what i said in their own words. but everyone is right too. people are getting stupider now, which leads to lack of responsibility. once again, i blame the mother.

RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
For a 4 year old that is.
--- Only car accident I saw where a person might have died is when a car flipped over and smahed into another car in the other lane, dunno if they died but it looked like a pretty dang hard hit. --- Worst thing that ever happened to me was once driving down the highway a rock just bigger than the size of a fist hit my windshield and cracked the entire thing, didn't quite break through though, just flew over the car. Nothing major, it just cost a heavy chunk of money for not being my fault. |

RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
How could they have age restrictions? Think about that seriously for a minute.
Operator: "Let's see, little boy...well you meet the height requirement. You have to be 7 to ride this. How old are you?" 5-year old boy: "I'm 8 and a half." Operator: "I dunno little guy, I'm gonna need to see some I.D." Boy: "Dude, I'm just a kid. I have a library card, but it doesn't have my age on it. You want that?" Operator: "Ah, whatever, just get on the ride." A weight restriction might work, but some people are quite sensitive about that, so I don't see them ever implementing such a thing. And guys, 5 Gs for an adult is just as bad as 5 Gs for a kid. It varies by how much the kid weighs. A kid should be able to withstand their own weight 5 times as much as me or you should. The kid weighs less, so it's less for him. And since they didn't find any evidence of physical harm, he was probably like, scared to death. Don't blame the mom or Disney. The kid made the choice to get on the ride, and the mom probably saw plenty of other kids just as small (and smaller) getting on as well. If the kid was so weak-minded that he could be scared to death, you'd think he would have known better than to hop on that ride. PS: Don't you like how they throw the old lady's death at the very end? Apparently nobody cares when old people die.

RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
The old lady thing shouldn't even be in that article... that pirates of the caribbean ride is 100% safe...
she died because she was old, not because she went on that ride... Theres only one ride that I THINK should have been fixed, and actually was fixed... in west edmonton mall, there was a ride called the drop of doom... 80 feet drop, few seconds, you know the deal... anyways, this girl with really long hair goes on the ride, and it gets caught in the very back of the ride, and she gets scalped as she goes down the ride... ouch >.< they took that ride out of there right away... i guess they did the right thing, because i dont think anybody would want to ride that thinga after an incident like that... =\

RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
That happened at the Power Tower at Cedar Point a time or two. It's like a 100+ foot drop. It goes up, drops, up, drops, etc.
That would seriously hurt. And then the people next to you would be like WHO SHE HAS NO SCALP, or they wouldn't notice or something. Yep, it'd suck.

Yeah, the old 70 year old lady, had diabetes, and something in the liver, maybe cancer.
I think she wanted to go to disney world before she died. But instead she actually died IN it. Rofl.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
I almost didn't respond to this post, because the reporter who made this post, and anyone who follows any agreement with her, all flaming fucking idiots.
The big part about all of this that gets me, is that this is the FIRST and only death that has ever occured on this ride, possibly even the only death that has occured in Disney Land. The reason that they don't have inspections on their rides, is because they're safe. As for the mother, my advice to her is simple, you can't go around blaming everyone else for everything bad, because you fucked up. As for the end of the news article, this made me smile inside and piss bullets outside. These people, that are getting off of this ride are somewhere between 70 and 80 years old. WTF ARE YOU DOING AT AN AMUSEMENT PARK? You should be inside eating hot oatmeal and watching re-runs of I Love Lucy for fucks sake. If your 77 and you go on a thrill ride with G-Force, you have no right to complain, because 77 years of learning sure as hell didn't do much for your wisdom. I wouldn't put my 4 year old kid on this ride, even if he met height requirements, because he's 4. I'll take him to Disney Land when he can remember it. However, if I ever made the mistake to do it, and it cost me something as great as my kids life, I wouldn't go pinning it on Disney...because it's my own damn fault. Sometimes people just need to suck it up and stop being chumps.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: This really saddened me a bit.
i was just at disney land a few months ago. i have no idea how anyone could have died on mission space. its not a roller coaster, it doesnt do anything but spin and you dont even know you are spinning, youre not supposed to know. you just feel a little pressure pushing you into your seat.
there isnt anything wrong with old people at amusement parks as long as they arent stupid, my 75 year old grandmother rode space mountain with me. its just they should be careful and not do anything to crazy. it really is just common sense, dont put an old lady with medical conditions on roller coaster. ~sasan |

Okay, while I kind of agree with you guys, you're taking it a little too far.
While yes, the mother should have used her better judgement about it, it isn't ABSOLUTELY her fault. When people go to DISNEY LAND, they expect a certain kid-friendliness on most of the rides, because it is DISNEY LAND. Unfortunately, this can cause sort of a false comfort zone, as it would appear happened in this case.

It isn't like the mom's thinking, This ride could kill my son! Seriously, It's a simulation of a flight to mars. What 4 year old wouldn't want to try that?
