I honestly think that having the tourney biannually would devalue and decrease the excitement of an official tourney. One each year should be enough. Elimination is only based on the current round's song. So for round 2, only your round 2 score will be checked to see if you qualify to go to round 3. And for round 3, only your round 3 score will be checked to see if you qualify to go round 4. And so on and so forth...
