Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Nope. Feel the same way. I would have liked it a lot more with 300 bpm streams and more of the gallop 16th patterns in the melody stepped. Plus I'm not too huge a fan of the song.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
300 was stepped forever ago.
Stuff I would have changed. Step more sounds. Make jump placement consistent. (Sometimes I put it to the claps, sometimes I didn't). Make it more PR. Make the ending synth part (the one with the jacks and stuff) match up with the beginning synth part PR-wise. Put in the 16th stream. (The reason I didn't is because I saw they rejected Ben Spiers' for that). That's basically it. I really think its a piece of crap, probably one of, if not the, worst files released during the tournament. I like the song. My other file, Tokyo Banging, is better IMO. I resent it, it's in this batch. It was accepted a long time ago. My OTHER other file..........oh god. Accepted same time as Tokyo Banging. Another resend this batch. LMAO. Can't wait to see what happens. EDIT: I do find 300 fun to PLAY though. Not a good file, but fun IMO.

I know that feeling man, and if I were considering the file as Dec. 2007 hi19hi19, I'd say it's pretty fun. I would still disagree with the spotty consistency, especially in the jump placement and gallop rhythms, but in that context it was a good file for its time.

But it was surprising to me, considering it's one of my older files. Queue lag, etc. |

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
the goal now is faster turnaround. lol. hopefully keeping submission numbers down and judging stricter will result in fewer queue'd files. plus more mini-queue clearing events... the goal is to keep maybe 20-30 files as a buffer, and spam out everything above that.
the one downside to that is it won't allow us to do any of the really big 50-70 song events.

You can probably get away with asking for a special round of submissions in the weeks before you want a massive 50 song event. FFR is at the point where there are so many simauthors that enough would be glad to respond with those 30 extra files you'll need.

****.... if i gave you 10 days notice, you'd whip those 30 files up for me by yourself. you're like a Chinaman in a Nike factory.

Cool new Nanairopanda v2 skill token icon... not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Hi, i actually endured playing MAMA today and i must say out of your files like {Rose} It's the worst you've ever done. I understand you wanted to try something new but I don't think it worked.
300 Kept me entertained even with the oddness of it. Boarder of Maximum's Running men suprised me, i wish more files had them. {Rose} is a great file that i just love to death. EturnuS: Great file but kinda boring, still just hard enough to make me keep a sharp eye. Excite bike: Funniest file I've ever seen, good for a warm up. Indulgence: One of the files that just upsets me, it's not to hard it's just that it sounds so off sync. Orchestral Angels: Fun kept me entertained. The Entertainer: Great file, loved it killer work. Death Piano: WTH?! I love this file even if it is a vROFL. Blue Rose: Very hard, even with the long intensity and difficulty it's just a killer file. {Midnight}: I wish the song wasn't cut you'd have had a lot more of a killer file to make. It just rocks. Eternal Nightmare [Heavy]: Killer. Love it. Pondering stuff: Who's idea was it for the background to be red? What an eyesore. Freespace: Arrow Pattern is odd. My niece can pass it and she's six, it's a fun file. Vertex BETA: This file irritates me because i get mental blocks, it's tiring so it's a good difficulty. Pimp Slap: I have to play spread on this file just to do well, so many rolls... It's an interesting file with an interesting song. |

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
lol. someone actually gave a critique of free space? i almost feel honored.
SB: yes it is... look at the tournament. i think having all new songs for the tournament is ****ing awesome. and i think the users participating in the tournament agree. to be able to do that again in 6 months for the next tournament will be a challenge, at this time. but, i'm confident we'll start getting spammed with queue worthy files again, and in 6 months i'll have plenty of choices for the tournament.

Besides. It's not like we have actual Jpop here. MOSAIC is all hentai moe etc. I am Maid is plain hentai. Most of Sharpnel anime remixes aren't really any gracious pop. It disgusts me. D= Glad you thought infinity was unique sounding. =) EDIT: Shouldn't reviews be more... sophisticated? Not one lined... at least.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
What I was thinking of when you said that was the mass skill token event of whenever that was. That kinda sucked. The way you're releasing songs every week for the tournament is much better though, I like it a lot.
7 songs a week (5 tourney + 2 public) is a lot better than 16 a week (2 tokens a day + 2 public) |
