Re: Osama Bin Laden dead.
Hide and go seek champion: Osama 2001-2011
But on a serious note, I personally feel like some people (or most) that he deserved it. He threatened something big, and when you threaten something as big as the U.S your bound to be found and well...taken care of. All in all, Osama threatened loads of lives, and payed the price.

which we should take to pay off our debts. we might as well seeing that it'll just disappear and get invested into terrorism again. it's the american way to take Edit: Wait, so after reading some articles I wonder. Will this affect our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? I don't feel like being happy for 2 years over this, I think our troops should be coming back in the near future. That way we don't spend billions of dollars on military stuff we don't need. Last edited by ddrxero64; 05-2-2011 at 09:54 PM.. |

Here's a hypothetical that I heard some professor talking about. I'm not going to throw this out as undeniable. I'm still giving this theory some thought. Feel free to fight this one so I can be more informed. Al-Qaeda always had comparatively large factions and sub-groups around the world. One of the most effective results of targeting leadership figures and the like in Afghanistan in the area is that the factions have since broken away. Now cut off from a central, powerful organizing force, which acts as both a recruiting agency and a sense of legitimacy, those groups around the world have since changed their formation. No, the violence of these groups haven't gone away but now they're easier to isolate and their goals are more localized. For instance, rather then someone like Osama organizing a grand war against western aggression, it becomes a fight to promote something in the government. (usually institutionalizing radical religious ideologies or what have you. Its just an example. Deal with it.) This is easier to appease and deal with rather then 'kill people to demoralize the american government.' So perhaps things are changing.

Also, there was no way of dragging him out alive. It was a gun fight. As said before, they wanted justice and they wanted him, dead or alive. I actually think they would have loved to get him alive, and we wouldn't even know. Why? They'd interrogate him to death or use him to get the other terrosists to come out. The death had to happen, he would've killed himself like Hitler I'm sure. Welcome to America. |

Re: Osama Bin Laden dead.
Its making you uncomfortable that people are celebrating the death of someone who is responsible for the death of thousands? Are you SERIOUS?
I suppose you think we should have wasted even more tax dollars keeping him detained for the rest of his pathetic existence, where he would undoubtedly continue to run his terrorist organization from behind bars, right? Unbelievable.

Don't get me wrong yo, I don't think killing him was morally wrong, especially since he died in a firefight. I'm just sad it was necessary.
