Strange last names
I want to know if any1 has a strange last name that is made fun of because it relates to something else.
For example, my last name is Campbell and I'm always laughed at and called chicken soup .

Re: Strange last names
A long time ago, I was at my doctor's office, and I heard off the intercom "Sidebottoms? Sidebottoms?". It was funny, and I really thought that was someone's last name too.

Setoh.
I don't know where my ancestors pulled that from, it's probably one of those "hey let's take some alternating consonents and vowels and see what we get" names.

Mine's Castaneda. Not really weird in Mexico or other latin countries, but here in the United States it is I guess.

Re: Strange last names
Jamaican: huh?
ps - in my 5+ years working in banking... by FAR the weirdest last name i've come across is Buttsavage. After the guy and his family and his little Buttsavage kids coming into the branch for 2 years, I finally asked him how to pronouce his last name. He kinda laughed and said you pronouce it exactly how you'd think to pronouce it. Butt-savage. If I had that last name, I'd sure as hell pronouce it Butte (like the Montana city) Saavaage (both a's having a long sound to them, so it sounds kinda french).

Snell. Sounds like snail. It also rhymes with my first name. I get a lot of grief.

Re: Strange last names
I'd never post my last name because I am paranoid, but let me just say.
Nobody has a clue how to pronounce it. "Z"s apparently throw EVERYONE off. |

Re: Strange last names
I wouldn't tell you my last name either, but yes back in school I used to get made fun of for the huge amount of things that rhymed with it.
Seriously, there was tons. Also, my name is Scottish, not David, but my surname. |
