My cat's leg got broken
I think that it's broken at least. We don't really have any money to go to the vet.
He was standing in two-door frame, between the two doors. My brother didn't notice him and close the door on my cat's leg. It looks like it got fractured, it's bent just above where his "wrist" is. Give him your sympathy. |

Re: My cat's leg got broken
Your cat should be okay, just he may lose the use of that leg. But during this time, you should take him to the vet to seek some professional help. Then you should probably make sure your cat gets fed, and has a good place to sleep, and support it's broken leg.

Re: My cat's leg got broken
Even if you have no money to go to the vet, at least take him to the SPCA or Human Society. It's cruel (and against the law) to let your pet suffer if his leg really is broken. And if it isn't, it's highly likely it's sprained or otherwise hurt if he's not putting weight on it or holding it strangely.
Also look up http://www.carecredit.com/ or tell your folks to look at it. It's a medical credit card that, if you're approved, will give you 3 months interest free to pay off a debt over $300, and 48 months at something like 9% interest to pay off over $1000. Regular credit cards are anywhere from 12-25% interest, so it's a good deal. Or call the vet and ask if they have any payment plans, or any way to work with you. In any case, this cat needs to be seen. If you don't take him to the vet, he could lose the leg, or develop an infection, or something else horrifying and even more expensive. If worst comes to worst, the Humane Society/SPCA/local animal shelter will let you sign him over so that they can either fix it or euthanize him if it's too bad to fix. Be aware that if you sign over a pet, you do not get him back ever--and you don't get updates on how he's doing. This should be a last resort if you really have no way to pay for his vet care. And lastly: If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet. This is TRUE. Part of having a pet is being able to care for them, which means being able to take them to the vet at least once a year and in ANY emergency case, which this definitely is.

Re: My cat's leg got broken
rofl yeah, I'm going to give one of my best friends to the SPCA because he got his leg hurt
btw I looked again, and it LOOKS fine. So it's can't be a horrible injury. We're gonna get him to a vet as soon as we can, which probably won't be for two days. I hope he's okay by then. *EDIT* oh yeah, and I don't think he's suffering much, because he's acting fine. |

B) You are not trained in any kind of medicine, much less veterinary medicine. Just because it "looks fine" doesn't mean it is. It means it may be less of an injury, but that doesn't mean it's not serious. c) Cats hide their pain because pain means they are vulnerable. Again, he would probably show it more if it was really bad, but that doesn't mean he's NOT in any pain. Please don't take this the wrong way. I just want what's best for your kitty. Also, best advice until you can get him to the vet is to keep him confined to one small room (bathroom is best, or a small bedroom) where he can't jump or run around and hurt himself further.
