Trust me-- his Japanese isn't especially great either.

I mean, his statements seem grammatically correct and all... they just seem like something which would below someone who is "fluent."

It seems to me that the only reason you're critisizing him is because you speak japanese aswell, and want to prove yourself better.

Just drop it. =\

Not at all. He definitely knows more than me.

I just don't like the term fluent being thrown around so lightly.

I know enough to watch most raws and comfortable reading kana and know decent amount of common Kanji. This thread won't do anything in a way of learning though.

Just go here if you want to learn something.

http://www.gu.edu.au/school/lal/japa...mar_frame.html

btw need to know your Kana first. That's easy though.

lol dunlop is the brand of my tennis racquet, which is totally irrelevant.

I'm kinda skeptical about how well a person could possibly learn japanese off a website, let alone a random from an internet forum. I am NOT doubting your japanese, I'm just wondering if people are actually going to learn much besides a few random phrases that they will most likely never use in their lives.

My highschool doesn't have a japanese class (yay canadda -.- but I'll most likely take a class as soon as I get to university.

You can, I never took any formal classes and can converse, read and understand freely after about 1.5 years. But you need drive for this to work.

Yeah, I learned my kana from a website. We never practiced it in class because my Japanese teacher was a joke (about halfway through the second year of classes, I'd say my knowlege of the language was equal to his).

But I never had enough drive to extend my vocabulary by these means, or learn more advanced grammatical structures.

His Japanese doesn't seem that great. Especially because he isn't writing in it and his romaji is weird.

Suzuru> High-five because that is how I learned Japanese.

Afrobean> Step it up a notch *****.

Karen> Fatty.

Linus> 母乳

Hey, don't say you're sexy when you're only 15. If you keep doing that, banditcom is going to show up at your place one of these days.
