RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Xbox 360 backwards compatibility list re
Any 2D fighters - O SHI, PLZ, LET ME PLAY MY GAMES THAT WILL BE BEATEN BY SEQUELS RELEASED FOR THE 360! PLZZZ!!!
Soul Calibur 2 - See above. Burnout 3 - See above. Burnout Revenge - Is getting released for 360 itself. Any of the Splinter Cell games - If you haven't beaten all of these yet, you fail. Dead or Alive Ultimate - Meh. Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball - Perverts lament. Metal Slug - Who? Jet Set Radio Future - Who? Panzer Dragoon Orta - An actual notable loss. Shenmue 2 - It will be missed. Doom 3 - Whoever bought this for XBox and not PC is an idiot, considering it's not only better for PC, but cheaper. FarCry Instincts - Far better FPSs out there. Conker - This was better on the 64. GunValkyrie - Meh. Call of Duty 2: Big Red One ( but it has a version of Call of Duty 2 for it?) - See parentheses. Full Spectrum Warrior - Meh. Daisenryaku VII (hey, [writer of list] care[s]) - See parentheses. Psychonauts - Overrated. Toe Jam & Earl 3 - What a loss. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath - o noez, not another random generic kill + get itemz game that i cant play! life is no longer wurth livng!!! Metal Gear Solid 2 - Solid Snake's getting old anyway. MechAssault 1 or 2 - Or? Star Wars Battlefront II - This one's a shame, I quite like it. NBA Street Vol.3 - If I wanted to play basketball I'd join the school team. Timesplitters 3 - Playing with a watch is more entertaining. The Warriors - May be more missed if it had a slightly more specific title. None of the DDR games (but PIU is playable?) - Go to an arcade. Morrowind - Part of my soul just died. XBox 360 is still on top.

heh. I love the way you figured this out in your head to still justify in your head that the 360 is infallible. The only problem, you went through and completely insulted many of the Xboxes best games. But, whatever...Just found it funny. So out of curiousity, are you going to have to download and transfer an emulator for each Xbox game you plan to play on the 360? And LD, sorry man, but it's obviously possible for Microsoft to bypass this, but it would cost a shit-load for them to do.

I know the emulator for the games that are already available is free and Im pretty sure that when they make updates to it, all you will have to do is d/l the patch file and install. This will be free also. BTW, it really doesn't matter, because when you get the 360 the first thing you do isn't going to be play old games that you already beat. It is going to be, playing the new games you just got until your eyes fall out. Then after the surgery to get your eyes replaced with better eyes that wont fall out you are going to continue playing from were you left off. I mean, probably die hard xbox live fans will get on old games to continue with the online experience, but, whatever.
Basically what im trying to say is, the list will constantly be updated with probably the easiest games to emulate first. Then they will skip over to the harder once. Plus it wont really matter. Nobody is going to decide against getting a 360 because it doesn't play panzer dragoon orta or doom 3. *PLUS*It is estimated that the 360 wont be available for walk in purchases till april, so you have a lond while to wait and decide if you haven't already preordered it.

Anywho, until I read what 87x said about downloading the emu for games, I was like "whoa, now companies will have a reason to release the EXACT SAME GAME and then sell it as the 360-compatible version, because some idiot is bound to buy it!" But other than that possibility, the only real problem is that it's a hassle and you may need to have both your X-Box and your 360 hooked up to play all your games. I have a PS2 and a PS1, yeah, but I only had to bring one to college to play any of the games. Do I play PS1 games often? No. Would it annoy me greatly if I had to plug something else up just to do so? Hell yes. However, lack of backwards compatible is no reason to say that X-Box 360 will lose the console wars. There are plenty of better reasons why. This is just proof that Microsoft is annoying and likes making you buy new things.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright. And I write the blog for their website. Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O |

Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future, the only games worth buying for the XBOX, are not compatible with the 360. Good job, Microsoft.
Sega, you dumbasses, why did you put those on the XBOX anyway? The GCN has Evolution, Sonic, Skies of Arcadia, Ikaruga, etc. PS2 has Rez. Oh Sega, why must you put really cool games on the XBOX as well? |

Jet Set was a good game, but not close to being one of the greatest. And if I remember correctly, Panzer Dragoon sucked. Wasn't it like star fox, except you don't control the dragon, you just point and shoot?

I doubt you even played Panzer Dragoon Orta. It sold about 4 copies total.

Panzer Dragoon Orta didn't suck. The word "suck" cannot be applied to any game in the Panzer Dragoon series. I SEVERELY doubt anyone on this forum except me has played anything except Orta.
