Blah, I'll switch to you once the story-writer posts in this thread confirming that they'll write a good story, and put effort into it.
I like Blah and LD's game ideas the best, I just feel I have to make a point. Hosts today feel like story doesn't matter. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XXIII Host Signups - Voting
Talisman: the Lone Green CAN come out on day 1, but will obviously be at risk... also, no one but the guardian can fake a long green, as everyone else has a partner (4 wolves, 2 teams of 2)... so, should the green come out, he'll get the guardian with him... giving the guardian +lone green a 2-person alliance also... and then they lone green will also know each group of 2 players. Problem? THERE IS NO PSYCHIC. So, there is no way to figure out WHICH 2 groups out of the 7 are in fact wolves.
That is why I suggested the lone wolf be a psychic... it eliminates the lone green, seperates the psychic and the guardian from each other... but provides more intrigue. Also, it would be easier for the wolves to fake a psychic or guardian. Also, cardflipping? obviously a no with a psychic, but without? yes/no. Could use an answer.

Well since I can't vote, can I still join in the game? I swear this time I'll be active. I have APCS in school. I'm usually here most of the class.

Chromer: If your only time to play all game will be in the middle of 1 class during school, then highly doubtful. If you will be on after school, on AIM at nights, discussing strategy/suspicions, posting multiple times per real day... then yes, you'll most likely be given the opportunity to play.
But, its better for you to be honest... should you say you'll do all that, and then NOT... well, 2nd chances are hard to come by.

RE: TWG XXIII Host Signups - Voting
right tass... but making him the psychic is even worse... now he comes out as the psychic, gets guarded, knows the teams AND knows if a wolf dies who another wolf is.
In fact adding cardflipping would totally unbalance the game towards the humans... now all the mason teams just come out on day one, forcing the wolves to come out as well, someone gets lynched, they turn up wolf, boom there's the next day's lynch. Blah, I agree that 4 wolves seems like a bit much, but with 3 the wolves are dicked if everyone decides to come out. One of them will be forced into the position of claiming to be the lone green. And with the lone green not really caring if he gets lynched this means a guaranteed wolf lynching. |

Also, the problem with the lone green coming out.... it reveals the guardian. because if everyone else gets revealed via the lone green, or via the thread... guardian is FUBAR.
Perhaps match the guardian with the lone green, that way EVERYONE is in a group of 2... and if EVERYONE comes out in their pair of 2, the guardian can't be found.

Yeah, but don't tell the guardian's partner that their partner is the guardian.

The guardian could just tell them themselves.

Ok, well after discussing with Tass, I have decided on days 3, 5, and 7, the thread will be told how many wolves are left. Hopefully this will satisfy the rest of you.

Start signups before my play starts. I won't be on the computer at all most likely on Thursday and Friday. I'm going out after our shows.

RE: TWG XXIII Host Signups - Voting
Well IF the lone green comes out then no one else should come out and no public knowledge of the teams should be provided. then all the wolves know is someone who the guardian isn't.
But the guardian getting messed up is a good reason for everyone to not come out with their partners. so.... if mead's game wins (as it seems like it has) then everyone, don't come out day one. |

unless the solo green gets paired with the guardian, in which case everyone has a partner.

RE: TWG XXIII Host Signups - Voting
Blah has a very balenced looking game. The flaws with mead's game really could make it a problem. I really don't see how so many groups of 2 are going to be especially useful if the wolves act in groups of two as well. If the wolves kill randomly, there is no real way to find out who they are. There is definatly a breaking strategy from the wolf point of view.
