Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
Hello everyone - as mentioned in the previous Official Tournament Special Batch, there has been a shortage of easier files accepted for use in the tournament. As a result, a secondary batch has been opened to facilitate this necessity.
As a reminder, we would like files that are no lower than 20 in difficulty for use in the tournament in D1. This batch's difficulty will be capped at 50. Note that this is not a value that can be precisely determined pre-conversion; however, any files that are noticeably outside of these ranges will be immediately rejected. - Submissions must follow the standard submission rules. - When the file is complete and ready to be judged, submit the file using the batch submission system here. Also worth reiterating: files cannot be up on alternate engines where people other than yourself will be playing them. Please do not submit content that has been released. Thanks everyone! Continue submitting your content to us for use. This batch will close submissions on May 3rd, 2019 at 11:59 PM server time; if additional files are needed, the batch will be reopened with a new deadline. EDIT: fixed incorrect batch link because I'm a dumbass Last edited by TC_Halogen; 04-23-2019 at 02:35 PM.. |

Nice, I haven't made one yet and it isn't great timing for me but I'll see if I can finish at least one file.

Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
Might as well post it here too, if anyone wants to finish my shitty skeleton file for a Family Farce song for this batch I'll give somewhere in the tens of thousands of credits (or a few bucks via venmo)
I really just want one of Chuck's songs in game it's a childhood dream of mine

That's alright: depending on the number of accepted files in this batch, you may have another chance.
I'm gonna get through remaining submissions in the previous batch and the submissions in this current batch this weekend - hang tight, everyone. |

Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
So hey yeah I'm just gonna do on the spot commentary for the stuff in this batch cause why the heck not.
Just played Bang (Deamerai) - So definitely think this was too hard for this particular batch, however, I love it I think it's great for the tournament. From the quick look through it appears to be accurately stepped but I will be taking a closer look at all the files in a bit. Barring any issues found, this one will be in. Dirty (DarkZtar) - super solid chart, easily a 9/10. Lovin the flow and the song. Donkey Punch (Rayword45) - @5.98 seconds you have a stacked note here. I'd also generally advise against a forced minijack that fast in this difficulty of a chart. The chart is okay from a quick look, the 48th bursts may be a bit much. These are all quick thoughts though. As of right now, I don't think it'd be used for the tournament in it's current state so feel free to play around with it and make some edits if you'd like to. otherwise it'll likely end up pushed into the regular batch. Forgotten Story (Elekton) - cute file, looks like it'd be pretty good for D1. I need to go in and check the technical accuracy of a few little things, I think there may be a few very minor fixes but it looked good on a quick passthrough. Giants Kingdom (M0nkeyz) - So I want to say first and foremost, you have come a hell of a long way from when I first started looking at charts from you. You've improved significantly and I really wanted to say it's awesome to see. This file is definitely too hard for an easy batch, just for future reference. The structure is pretty solid but I did take notice to some issues here and there that need to be cleaned up. I'm not totally sure this would be used for a tournament situation and with the time crunch there's a chance this is going to end up in normal batch, but I will keep you posted as I go on. Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
hehenonomohe (floatiestring) - This is cute but unfortunately it's too short for a tournament file. We generally don't like to go less than 1:20 and this is only :50
Highways of Ice (Hateandhatred and samurai7694) - as far as I can see solid straightforward chart. Will be doing my usual closer look just to make sure everything's all good but otherwise should be in. Idols (Antori) - Super fun song, chart seems to flow really well and I like that it mixes things up here and there in a great way for a D1 or D2 player. I just need to look over a couple spots to verify technical accuracy. If Trees Could Speak (Ghost_Medley) - but but, why would they say mean things? haha, looks like a good straightforward file for D1, I think there may be a few PR things here and there, I'm not currently wearing my headphones so don't put too much weight into that just yet till I do a full breakdown, but definitely looks like it'd fit in nicely. Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
So I just wanted to note that after going through 9 files, I definitely see what AJ was talking about. Most of these fall within the same range and a very close in difficulty to one another. I have yet to see anything that's really fitting of beginning D1/D2 but still have lots to go through.
I know it's definitely rough hitting those sweet spots, and it's not like ya'll know what difficulties one another are sending. I likely won't get to too much more of this tonight as my mother is visiting from Jersey so I'm bouncing back and forth between this and hanging with them, but they're planning on setting out in the AM tomorrow so I'll be dedicating a lot more time tomorrow. |

Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
If you have any recommendations on how I could make Donkey Punch or Midnight Funk D1/D2 level and still good I'm all ears.
If The Hop is too hard for those divisions I'm out of touch

Re: Official Tournament Special Batch #2 — Easy Batch
It's been a long while since I last stepped, but I am willing to see if I can do some files for the easier difficulties.

I'm also willing to set aside time to pump out some easier files to fill any empty tournament slots.

Same here, and I'd imagine that would be 20-50 difficulty range.
