![]() there is a school of thought that believes host communication in the thread is fine, and i think that same school regards asking good questions as either alignment as fairly skill-testing, but
in general i like keeping host comms private, and i get the sense that people here would not like that as an element of the game that they have to read i don't really want to touch the angleshooting stuff but using it as a defense sounds like it should self kill you, if that's what happened |

If I tried to angleshoot and deduce what happened, I only would have guessed he died because he received the wrong info in the night. However, this would have been wrong. Soundwave should have lived and Gradiant should have died. We wouldn't even have made the right conclusion even if we tried. |

If the host accept to clarify things because Haku is town and really doesn't know; It means that Haku cannot be a wolf. ^ This should be modkillable tbh, but it shouldn't happen as well. This tend to be more true than not because wolves don't usually pm the host to fake clarify things because it's not cool to play like that in general. I don't think people want to get in postgame and go like; "wow, very nice fake clarification from the host, you really outplayed us, good job man". Honestly Xiz had the right call, but added a little too much info imo. (It didn't really matter if I misinterpret how the wolf team works, but it's cool to edit role pm from dead players, announce it in the thread and make it consistent) It's subtle stuff. I'm still not sure what's the best course of action for Gradiant.

I'm not the issue here, I was supposed to die either way. The issue here is soundwave flipping, especially with the knowledge now of soundwave receiving a vest that also didn't work. That'd need a bit of clarification

the # of anti-towns coupled with the # of people who could have had their win conditions changed to become anti-town is greater than the # of kills town had at their disposal its a miracle this game went to f4

the biggest problem I faced when trying to parse the TWG history thread is the lack of uniformity in the presentation of information. the results for each game were written by the hosts in their own format so there was no real standard, which made text parsing difficult. add on top of that lack of consistency of certain games (e.g. the Villains games where "green" was actually "wolf") and the task was just intractable computationally Like in competitive sports the refs are usually asked to fill out a simple sheet with: Score tally, time remaining, winner, and these sheets are handed to the tourney manager so that maintenance of the tourney is easy and there's no real interpretive element. just my unsolicited 2c |

![]() Roundbox I'm sorry man but you don't have to theorycraft off what the host said when the host post tells you the reason right there in the post. Also you bending backwards to pretend that info isn't there us just as bad as not using it--its just reverse angleshooting where you lose instead of win.
Frankly host should have cancelled the game If he doesn't want you to use info he put in the thread. *smirks* |

![]() For my second ever game, learning to play while playing was one hell of an experience. I was a little amazed to go from lynched D0 to making it to F4. I had a great time playing with all of you and I'm looking forward to the next game
