Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
Gonna purchase a new headset, that's what.
Because the ones I've had for a couple years or so finally bit the dust just last night, ouch. One of these, doho. |

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
Does anyone here know anything about cameras? What kind of picture quality can I get with a $100 camera?

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
$100 can get you a digital camera with probably around a 14~20 megapixel lens, which is more than sufficient if you only know how to point and shoot, and use it only on certain occasions. I bought a Canon Powershot SD1400IS a couple years back (taking note that digital cameras now are better in specs). I guess sample photos below, although there is some minor photo editing work done to them to correct light balance and sharpening.
Outdoor shots with natural lighting: Indoor shots with unnatural and natural lighting: lol all AN 2013 photos

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
The original Blaster Master? I love that game. The one for Sega was pretty decent too.

As far as digital cameras under the $100 range... idk man. There are just so many to choose from, watch for colour fringing and pointless noise removal filters hard wired into the camera that could potentially ruin most of your photos. Look for manual settings, aperture control, and a macro mode, other than that you kind of have to assess for yourself. The megapixels might not matter for your purposes unless you do intend to print a bunch of your shit. The camera that got me started was a Canon Powershot A720 IS, which had pretty good depth of field and macro mode for such an oldish camera. I loved it. Searching for older model cameras might be more of a pain in the ass but honestly you'll prolly get more benefit out of something with tighter controls/image quality than a large megapixel range with lackluster photos. (that camera on ebay is like from $40 to $60 from what I see lol) So I guess my recommendation is getting what would be the older models of today's $500+ range digital point 'n shoots. If the size of the photo doesn't matter as much to you (just going to be posting it online and such) then it's deff looking into. Smaller images and smaller zoom range is pretty much the biggest real difference between the then-top of the line and now-top of the lines. Avoid gimmicks.

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
Alright, it seems like nearly any modern camera is infinitely superior to phone cameras.

Depends on your phone. My phone takes pretty good pictures. Not ultra high res but they are clear and crisp.

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
ultimately listen to what spen suggested because I'm by no means a photographer in the slightest, I'm just speaking as a casual camera user lol

Re: What Was Your Latest Purchase?
I'm not interested in photography, just a camera that doesn't take blurry photos. The important part from what I read seems to be the size of the processor that processes light and not really how many megapixels it is. At least in terms of getting clarity in a picture.
It is really hard to rate this from one camera to another since there doens't seem to be a standard. Last edited by Izzy; 02-25-2014 at 03:03 PM.. |
