Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
Round 2 file reviews!
D1: Meh, wasn't as impressed with this file as I was last week's; some sections didn't seem as though they were synced correctly! 5/10 D2: I definitely like this one a lot more than last week's for sure! 8/10 D3: Didn't like it at first, but I've grown to like this one quite a lot. Good work again Xiz! 9/10 D4: Best file of the week! So well stepped! 10/10 D5: Meh ... 6/10 D6: I really liked this file a lot! 9/10 D7: This was well stepped, the ending was tricky, I kept derping on it, ugh! 8/10

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
There's no way I'm getting past this round with my skill level but are people in D5 just hitting the slightly offset piano chords like hands/quads (i.e. 450, 730)?
I can't just rely on luck to get past those every time... |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
there's almost no way you could hit those as chords and avoid goods
repeatedly isolate the grace note sections until you have a technique down for hitting them well is my advice |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
i hit the 48ths and above as jumps and it worked like a charm. You do need to hit the one fast part with the 64ths in the first half the way it's presented, though, but that's about the only time you need to actually be ~fast~.

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
That section is the reason I stopped trying to AAA. I feel the best thing to do is to literally hit the jump then "roll" your fingers onto the grace notes (at least that's how I visualize it when I play), unless you can manage to hit the jump in the latest frame and the grace note in the earliest frame each time as a hand, which would be more difficult than hitting it normally imo.

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
All that bursty, grace note-y stuff is easy...it's those two jacky sections of the file that are hard :c

I'm getting close to being eliminated in this round. But I am NOT gonna let that happen. Not this time.

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 2
random question. what happens if you're tied at the cutoff? in d2 there's an 8-way tie for 6-0-0-0 including myself that is getting too close for comfort to the yellow zone, and the dashboard is ranking them by what score they got in round 1. if 6-0-0-0 happens to be the cutoff, would all 8 people go through regardless, or is the first round score used as a tiebreaker?
