Sorry if you misinterpreted me, but I did not mean this in a negative way at all. It was rather clear that Fission, armed with size 7 font, was unaware of the rule stating that .sm files are indeed optional.

My vote is also in favor of compulsory .sm and .dwi files for all submissions (y)

who cares if the rule is optional, if you know what he's stating is beneficial for all of the judges and also speeds up the judging process

maybe you shouldn't have said anything

idk what you got out of stating that including the .sm file is optional besides.... nothing

I am fairly certain that the judges of all people are aware of the rules. It is also something that has been complained about by multiple people, including myself. It is about time that .sm files become a submission parameter in addition to .dwi files, because .dwi is beyond dated and useless at this point -- it isn't fair for judges to be forced to use external means for getting a .sm file, and it's also not right for us to have to keep an old version of SM just to save the file as a .sm format. I understand the necessity of using the currently stable converter with .dwi files, but there's no reason that judges should have to deal with this inconvenience.

I might have SM 3.95 CVS, but it's only a single copy with over 3,000 songs -- I shouldn't have to reload the game just to load one file.

Of course! I understand, it just irked me that he was stating it like an obvious fact, when the 1st rule of the submission guidelines said otherwise.

Also, Fission I did not see your message, as it was an edit after you posted. I don't think anything more needs to be said.

i always assumed you had to send just the dwi because it would clutter up the folder

but yeah can we seriously get rid of that rule? you can just convert to dwi after they're judged so you save a lot more time

Well for some reason neither of my mac's can run stepmania 3.95 so .DWI is impossible for me sadly.

Another thing to update FFR on... haha

EDIT: In before everyone makes fun of macs

lol macs

Most the time I don't even send the DWI I just send the .SM. Never been yelled at for doing it backwards, and if I have been, w/e.

Also, I had no idea it inconvenienced you all to not add the .SM. I should start doing that instead.

Can we just make .sm and .dwi both mandatory already kthx

Or better yet start using a more modern converter and just use .sm files
(I'm aware of the issues with switching converters obviously)

requesting that dossar_lx odi NOT judge any of my files if possible

dossar has this beef with me for some reason and i feel that his judgements on my files have always been harsh compared to the rest of the judges, on a statistical basis

thank you

also rebound/dossar's extreme bias towards certain genres are showing, pull up your pants

Where's Bill:
Choof - 5.5
Fission - 4
Rebound - 2
Dossar - 2
jimerax - 6

Winnipeg:
Choof - 6
Fission - 5
Rebound - 4
Dossar - 1
jimerax - 5.5

i'm too lazy to run a statistical analysis on dossar's bias regarding my files are if it's not too much work i'm requesting dossar never judge any of my files ever again

no dossar i will not step those 10-note 64th bursts because i choose not to, and that's not an objective error, nobody wants to hit 10-note technical 64th bursts in breakcore songs get over your bias and stop your shit

Mi40 - You know I feel like notes need to be taken with a grain of salt. Some things are required fixes like missing notes and others are recommendations to make the file better.

Let's be honest, if you think your style of stepping is perfect and your style is flawless you should never step again. Files need other eyes to make them better. One thing I will never understand is why people don't send in fixes for their files. Should be a requirement.

Dossar gave you detailed notes, because he actually gives a crap. I might not agree with some of his recommendations but I still consider it and ask around. Not asking him to judge your files shows the lack of maturity you have when taking criticism.

Tl;dr - Grow up and rework your files. Please, your files might actually be fun to play and benefit FFR if you do.
