Not yet, but who knows, this may change. They cancelled TA again though. A lot of services are shut down and it is p dumb.

A friend of mine is furloughed as well and enjoys making jokes about how he makes more from unemployment than I do from a 45 hour week. I just make jokes about him being non-essential. We're good people.

As a contractor for NASA, I am directly affected by the shutdown. But while civil servants *had* to stop work, the situation is a bit different for contractors, and a lot depends on the specific contracts. In certain cases, contractors are permitted to continue working even though the federal government is shut down. In my case, I am permitted to continue working, but I have to do so off-site (which isn't a problem). But I know a bunch of civil servants who are currently forced to stay home without pay, and I suspect a bunch of contractors are in the same boat even if I personally am not.

in most cases contractors are gonna get paid either way, and if they deny you access to facilities your contracting firm is gonna be able to ding them.

so likely you'll get paid either way.

currently all my friends @ nasa with jacobs engineering are denied access to facilities

well i mean it depends on what's in the contracts but likely whatever contractor they work for is gonna send nasa a bill.

I'm kinda worried that my GI bill benefits will be delayed from this, unless that falls under the category of "military pay".
