Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
This is seriously the third Silvuh song out of three for D1 and D2? Don't get me wrong, Silvuh files are (usually) awesome, but some variety would be nice!

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Haha, D1 and D2 tends to see a lot of Silvuh because he's the most proficient at creating lower level files. He's also the only one that tends to make them.
We should be giving him thanks to making all of those easier charts because the D1/D2 players would have nothing to play. EDIT: Keyboard double-triggered on me during a ~8:1 A:P run of Weapon, faekjhrsakjfhas. Man... that accuracy, haha. |

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
He's about the only one who steps files in that range. I had nothing else to put in the early d1/d2. I actually had to ask for more files because we were so short on easy ones.

Oh, and this is a collab, so at least it's not just Silvuh by himself! |

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Oh btw guys I'd really like to hear any opinions on file ratings with D1/D2 because it was a difficult area to rate it felt. A lot of the lower end files seem out of place and it made it hard to compare files for ratings. Plus being that those of us rating the files are D5 and D7 players it's a little harder for us I think to be accurate on that end.

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Holy crap this round I enjoyed every single one of the divisions songs and charts haha. Amazing round release :3
You'll probably hear me say a lot of the same thing for each chart lol. Pembroke Welsh Corgi: Really fun song and a fun chart for being D1. Really liked it Silvuh ^^ ice valley "beyond the searoad": Nice song and fun chart for being decently easy to me. Was almost tricked near the end and got ahead of myself when there was a pause and then a 16th jump and another pause or whatever. Definetly would like to see another Silvuh + bmah file =P Jazzman - Super Mario Bros: I remember testing this chart out for Felix before he submitted it to FFR and it was really fun. Glad to see it in-game now =D. Song is great and the chart he made for it goes very well too it. Lots of fun stuff to hit. Definetly a step up in difficulty for D3. That ending is pretty tricky and easy to mess up I'd think. Goodluck D3! Slam the Door (Rogue Remix): Love the song and the chart is nice too. The jacks felt really good to hit and the was fun as well. Not too much of a raise in difficulty for D4 but rather just a new skillset to test =/ Undiscovered Colors: Love the song and really love the chart as well! Enjoyed this chart the most out of the rest but that doesn't mean the other charts weren't enjoyable. Took me 12 tries to AAA the song. I can see this being lowered to atleast a 68. The chart flows very well to me =3 Weapon: Really cool song and stepped very well. This chart has no mercy though haha. Lots of tough patterns dealing with jumpgluts and possible one handed patterns. The 24ths flowed very well and were my favorite things to hit in the chart. I feel like this chart is harder than the round 3 chart last tourney aka Shotgun Surgery and that 78 is too low for it x.x I'd give difficulty opinions for the easier files but it's really hard for me to compare being in a high division so sorry Kayla v.v

Also, D4's song isn't a significant step up to be a kick in the face, but it is noticeable compared to last round. The cutoff should be a little bit looser because of the extreme amount of jack/jumpstream consistency. |

D1's song is a bit harder for me to say for sure, but it seems accurate as well. All the songs this round seem to be very well done. Great songs and the stepfiles all look fun too, although I haven't played D4-D6 yet. |

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Great files all around this round!
(D1) Pembroke Welsh Corgi It started off as a typical easy file to me, but that speedup section and the 8th "jumpstream" that came after it were nothing short of a pleasant surprise. Great to see the lower divisions getting enjoyable files. (D2) ice valley "beyond the searoad" And another nice song and file for D2. Not much to say about this one; very solid chart. Good work on the collab! (D3) Jazzman - Super Mario Bros Oh wow, this was a really cool mini-medley/remix, heheh. Noticeably more tricky than the previous D3 files in terms of rhythm and patterns, but still really fun to play. Personal favorite of the week. (D4) Slam the Door (Rogue Remix) Overall, fairly straightforward. This was another chart that got more interesting as the song progressed. (D5) Undiscovered Colors Great chart. Some sections were a bit tricky, but they certainly didn't take away from the fun factor. I'm going to have to give this another try sometime with the appropriate offset, haha. (D6/D7) Weapon Despite being quite long, this was a well-stepped chart to an energetic song. I find the 24th runs in kommi files very flowy and fun to play, and this file is no exception. The jumpgluts/minijacks definitely require control -- a very nice challenge for everyone, I'd say.

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
I just want to say, my favorite for this round was sort of hard to choose because all of them were fun this time around!
But, there can only be one! My favorite of the round is Slam the Door (Rouge Remix), holy... this song was stepped so well and it was catchy to boot! Very-very nice! Honorary mention of Undiscovered Colours as well! That chart was as fluid as it can possibly get the way Mr. Halogen stepped it. |
