Ah yeah right the outro to those thrills is pretty discontinued from the rest. I usually go in a empty minded attitude when dealing with those. I just stare in the blank it feels like butter. butterfingers

Welp, it's gonna be a good competition this round I tell you. Good luck mate.

Accepting the file would show a lot of preferential treatment. On a normal scenario, doubtful it would've gone through on a regular batch. However, System Doctor has already been accepted since last year, so that seems like a better alternative.

Sorry if you disagree, but what more can I say. Decisions have to be made somehow.

Or there could've been better files to use in the first place

That would be preferable. But there aren't a lot of files available in that range. Provided there were other files of similar difficulty, neither Hungarian Rhapsody nor System Doctor would be the prime choices.

Lol this. The file being accepted is not rly a reason to use it, at least not in a tourney that big. I mean, wasn't it possible to ask some pro stepartists to do 1 file to replace the 2 awful choices you have ?? cuz you definately seem to agree that the files you had are not so good (well I hope you agree with this..) but you still used them ;o

I have yet to finish the actual song because of lag.

And the fact I'm heavily sleep-deprived and sugar-loaded hardly helps.

Callin' it quits in a bit, might see what the hell I can even do tomorrow.

I heard Hungarian was absolutely incredible, still waiting to play it, but I've heard nothing but good things and hearing that it would have been the "perfect 7th".

hey, my opinion is probably terrible though

Got 5-0-0-3 on System Doctor - should have been way better but I'm also grateful that I got the FC with how bad that ending went. I completely broke my strategy but managed to piece it together somehow anyway.

I'm gonna be practicing the isolation file so that I can get more comfortable doing what I'm doing at the end. (Also: shoutouts to subin, because if it wasn't for me watching him play charts a million different ways at once, I wouldn't be doing this well on System Doctor.)

I really wanted Hungarian as Round 7 but oh well

Surprised Sys Doc wasn't sent to conditional for that ending though, I mean geez..

Good luck to you, as well. I was so appreciative to even make it to this point. That last song was a nightmare for me. Those 32nd streams were crazy-fast for me. So yeah, I'm gonna give it my all and see what happens.

Well pro stepartists DID step hard files for the sake of the tourney, but it still wasn't enough. It's firstly not easy to make good files of this difficulty. Secondly, the files we get may not be of the targeted difficulty, even though we still get a ton of very difficult files. And finally, not all submitted files are hits.

It certainly wasn't a matter of the tournament organizers lacking the attempt to find alternatives.

A better solution would be to not step files that are mainly a lot of 8th notes and then have a heavy ending. Also with bursts/jacks in small sections around the file.

My untitled 3 file for instance isn't perfect but it has a little bit of everything. 16th streams, jacks with some 32nd transitions, wall transitions, one handed control, and light jumpstream at the end.
